Discourse 46
If Ye have faith, nothing shall be impossible unto you.
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him certain man,
kneeling down to him, and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is
lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they
could not cure him.”
Then Jesus answered and said, ‘O faithless and perverse generation, how
long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me.”
And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child
was cured from that very hour.
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, “Why could not we cast
him out?”
And Jesus said unto them, “Because of your unbelief: for verily I say
unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this
mountain, ‘Remove hence to yonder place’; and it shall remove; and nothing
shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit
this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Matthew 17:14—21
And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him certain man,
kneeling down to him, and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is
lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they
could not cure him.”
Then Jesus answered and said, ‘O faithless and perverse generation, how
long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me.”
Matthew 17:14—17
Parallel reference:
And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them,
and the scribes questioning with them.
And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly
amazed, and running to him saluted him.
And he asked the scribes, “What questions ye with them?”
And one of the multitude answered and said, “Master I have brought unto
thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; and wheresoever he taketh him, he
teareth him: and he foameth, and he gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth
away: and I spake to thy disciples that
they should cast him out; and they could not.”
He answereth him, and saith, “O faithless generation, how long shall I
be with you? How long shall I suffer
you? Bring him unto me.” Mark 9:14—19
Jesus removed the evil karma of many devotees. A lunatic son of a
certain man was brought to Jesus. Jesus said: In spite of my being with you,
you people were ignorant in recognizing the Christ Consciousness within me. How
long shall I bear your karma and mitigate it.
However you bring your lunatic son. Jesus knew very well that it is not
desirable to take somebody’s karma. Then the accumulated karma is unbearable
and he has to get rid of it at the high cost of his own life. Jesus did it due
to his infinite compassion.
And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child
was cured from that very hour. Matthew 17:18
Parallel reference:
And they brought him unto him; and when he saw him, straightway the
spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
And he asked his father, “How long is it ago since this came unto him?”
And he said, “Of a child. And
ofttimes it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him:
but if thou canst do anything have, compassion on us, and help us.”
Jesus said unto him, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to
him that believeth.”
And straightway the father of the
child cried out, and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine
unbelief.”
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the
foul spirit, I change thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.”
And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was
as one dead; insomuch that many said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him
up; and he arose. Mark 9:20—27
Jesus remonstrated: O, disembodied spirit, You are suffering in astral
world due to evil karma. You are accumulating more evil karma by possessing
this child. Come out of the body of this
child, possess him no more, and reduce your karma.
Matthew 17:19—21
Comparable references to the power f faith spoken on other occasions:
And the apostles said unto the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
And the Lord said, “If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might
say unto this sycamine tree, ‘Be thou plucked by the root, and be thou planted
in the sea’; and it should obey you.” Luke 17:5—6
And Jesus answering saith unto them, “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever
shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea’;
and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he
saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:22—24
Jesus explained: To cast out the long lodged spirit requires steady
faith. You people disbelieved that he will not be cured after making two or
three attempts. This all-accomplishing power of faith cannot come by the half-hearted efforts for self-realization.
Faith gives man super natural
sovereignty over the nature. The light of intuition, the soul’s realization of
truth, and the resultant conviction i.e. faith is that which perceives God’s invisible
Cosmic Creative powers, and God as the final substance. The belief should be fortified like a rock
with incessant deep meditation.
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home
in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by
sight:) We are confident, I say, and
willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the
Lord.”
llCorinthians 5:6—8
When the consciousness within you is united with Cosmic Consciousness
through deep and long meditation, then through that consciousness ‘all things
are possible to you.’ Then your such
conscious heart-felt prayer shall move the mountain. Jesus said: ‘Therefore I
say unto you, what things soever ye desire , when ye pray, believe that ye
receive them, and ye shall have them.” ‘God helps him who helps himself.’ So
make an Himalayan effort to get into Cosmic Consciousness. If anyone can have
some form of his wants and desirous of having those justified wants with
indomitable will power, then he will have it. “Believe that ye receive them, ye shall have
them’.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally , and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with wind and
tossed. For let not that manthink that
he shall receive anything of the Lord. A
double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:5—8
Fulfillment of Jesus’ comes with realization of God’s presence within.
We are not beggars. We must do deep and long meditation. Be a divine son. A
human beggar receiv
mind power, overcome bod es
beggar’s pittance. A divine son receives
son’s share. A child of God should not be dominated by mortal limitations.
Improve slowly and steadily your affirmations, visualizations, power of
faith, and y consciousness. Enter into the kingdom of God, then everything will be added unto you.
Man’s tests are not sent by God as a punishment, but by man’s acquired
karma, good or bad.
Do kriya yoga. Do kriya yoga meditation which is scientific. ‘If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed.’
‘Beware, O ye mountains! Stand not in my way. Your ribs will be shattered and tattered
today!”
