Discourse 62
Jesus speaks of Soul union as the original purpose of he marriage
He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, “Is
it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?”
And he answered and said unto them, “Have ye not read, that which He
made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said,
and shall
cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh’? wherefore they are no
more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let not man put as under.”
They say unto him, “Why did Moses then command to give a writing of
divorcement, and put her away?”
He saith unto them, “Moses because of the hardness of your hearts
suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away
his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth
adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”
His disciples say unto him, “If the case of the man be so with his wife,
it is not good to marry.”
But he said unto them, “All men cannot receive this saying, save they to
whom it is given. For there are some
eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some
eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made
themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive
it, let him receive it.”
Then were brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands
on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them,
and departed thence.
Matthew 19:3—15
Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection;
and they asked him, saying, “Master, Moses wrote unto us, if a man’s brother
die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother
should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. Now there were seven brethren: and the first
took a wife, and dying left no seed. And the second took her, and died, neither
left he any seed: and the third likewise.
And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died
also. In the resurrection therefore,
when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? For the seven had her to wife.”
And Jesus answering said unto them, “Do ye not therefore err, because ye
know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? For when they shall rise from
the dead, they neither marry, nor or given in marriage; but are as the angels
which are in heaven. And as touching the dead, that they rise; have ye not read
in the book of Moses, how in the bush God unto him, saying, ‘I am the God of
Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the
dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.”
Mark 12:18—27
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, “Is
it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?”
And he answered and said unto them, “Have ye not read, that which He
made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, and
shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh’? wherefore they
are no more twain, but one flesh. What
therefore God hath joined together, let not man put as under.”
They say unto him, “Why did Moses then command to give a writing of
divorcement, and put her away?”
He saith unto them, “Moses because of the hardness of your hearts
suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away
his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth
adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” Matthew 19:3—9
From the beginning of creation it was intended that the male and female
are united to work for one ideal They will be one flesh, they will act in
harmony and unison in body, mind, and soul. The Law should not be desecrated or
violated to misinterpret the divorcement given by Moses. Originally it was intended to uplift
spiritual consciousness free from sex.
One should understand the deep metaphysical truths behind Jesus’
teachings on marriage.
One should marry a woman to be a soul-mate. A female should not be
married for the sake of satisfying lust. Jesus intended that the marriage
should be the union between soul mates. There should be mutual divine magnetism
between the consenting adults. It is not meant for animal magnetism of sex. To
understand the truth of Jesus’ teachings in regard to marriage, divorce, and
adultery, one must know the profound metaphysical truths concerning creation
and divine purpose.
The Spirit was One before the beginning of creation. It was
ever-existing, ever—conscious, and ever-new bliss. God thought within Himself:
“Verily, I am Joy: but there is none to enjoy Me. He became divided into Creator and created,
Transcendent Spirit and Cosmic Vibratory Nature. He made a portion of an unmanifested
consciousness with illusory difference.
Spirit manifested finite objects into countless pairs of polarized
forces and forms. For this He has utilized law of duality and relativity to
differentiate His One Consciousness and Cosmic Energy. He made that One
Consciousness into countless pairs of polarized forces and forms, Positive and
negative elements, male and female, man and woman.
Opening verses Saint John’s Gospel—Genesis according to Saint John
Discourse 1
In the Universe everything is of God’s Consciousness only. The spark of His
consciousness is individual soul and it is His image only. That only takes
dualistic nature of creation, male and female, positive or negative, half of
its essence.
The dual qualities are ‘soul mates.’
‘They twain shall be one flesh’ in order for the fully expressing soul
to find liberation in Spirit.
1) God’s Omnipotent Force is His Bliss. 2) His Bliss is stirred by the Will to be
creative. 3)His Consciousness is His
Omniscient feeling. So Omnipotent Force, will, and Omniscient feeling, all
three together is His creative manifestation.
These three divine potentials, the Bliss, The Will, and the Feeling,
make the souls of man and woman. They
are the perfect individualized reflections of these three-fold essence. That is
why when God reflected His consciousness in created forms, they became
half-souls. Positive is
reason-impregnated, and negative is feeling impregnated. Marriage is the
combination of reason and feeling. It is
clear from Jesus’ references to Genesis.
Essential nature of each soul is complete and perfect, free from sex and
duality.
“Male and female created He them…” Genesis 1:27
This refers to the creation of these two natures in the spiritual body.
i.e. Causal/astral body. In this male and female natures were united; ‘at the beginning’ God created man and woman,
the first pair of ideal beings, as soul companions. Every vibratory particle,
whether material or spiritual, has a positive or negative force or quality,
male or female. These were united in the
spiritual body of divine beings. But these characteristics got separated or
differentiated, when the material body was created by God.
“For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are
given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.” Mark 1216 ff
“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept:
and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the
rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her
unto the man….Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall
cleave unto his wife: and they shall be
one flesh.”
Genesis 2:21—24
He slept means due to avidya (ignorance) or Maya or delusion, by
which differentiation is made between man and woman. Rib means vibration.
From the vibration of God-force, that created man or Adam, manifesting a
reason-predominant nature, and God drew forth a rib or feeling-predominant
vibration to create woman.
There is a difference between soul union and sex union. Soul union is
spiritual marriage, and sex union is social marriage. Soul companions may have
sex or may not have sex. It is for the propagation of spiritual children to
bring good souls to earth.
In his words to the Pharisees, Jesus said that man and woman must be
spiritually united and hence it is called divine union, and not for lust.
Fornication means coition. Couples may marry or may not marry but will
have coition. It is adultery. Man who
forsakes his wife and takes another wife for sex is thrown into the pit of sin
of adultery.
Jesus did not expect celibacy from unprepared persons.
Jesus words on those who “have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom
of heaven’s sake.” Commentary on pages 1220 ff.
In marriage, spiritual aspirants should observe moderation in physical
relations, and above all the culture of a spirit of love, service, loyalty, and
divine friendship between husband wife.
When love, respect, and friendship are uppermost, the relationship will
be successful and progress surely toward fulfillment of the high divine purpose
of marriage. The animal instinct of uncontrolled sexual appetites is the chief
reason for failure of modern marriage.
Jesus warned that adultery is committed in mind as well as in body.
“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, “Thou shalt not
commit adultery’: But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hat committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:27—28
A husband and wife wife loyal to each other and mutually help each
other. If one is lagging in spiritually then the other should help.
Initially they may be a failure in spiritual plane. Afterwards they may
found to be real soul-mates. Whe the couple are completely engaged in spiritual
affairs, lust will take a back bench, and ultimately it dies. When there is an union of soul with Spirit,
it is highest form of spiritual marriage.
Matthew
19:10—12
Jesus’ disciples say unto him, “If the case of the man be so with his
wife, it is not good to marry.”
Jesus said: People who are physically, mentally, and spiritually fit can
live up to it. But he said unto them, “All men
cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs, which were so
born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made
eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have
made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to
receive it, let him receive it.” And
there eunuchs, with their free will and made themselves celibate. They withdrew
their mind, will, and energy from sex. They elevate their life force and
consciousness. Ultimately they enter into the kingdom of God.
Those renounce family life should give unselfish service to society. The
joy in God is more tempting than all temptations. One can even love husband or
wife with the love of God and love of flesh.
Then were brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands
on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
But Jesus said, “Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them,
and departed thence.
Matthew 19:13—15
“And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of
them, and said, ‘Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as
little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 18:2—3
Parallel reference:
And they brought young children to
him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought
them.
But when Jesus saw it, he was much
displeased, and said unto them, “Suffer the little children to come unto me,
and forbid them not: for such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you,
whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not
enter therein.”
And he took them up in his arms, put
his hands upon them, and blessed them.
Mark
10:13—16
Jesus said: Allow children to come to Christ
Consciousness, and don’t keep them away from spirituality. All are spiritual
people are like little children only. One should be simple, non-attached,
truthful, good, and trusted like a little child to attain the divine state.
Only by spiritual thoughts and actions only one gain the entry into Paradise.
In Vedic India, from earlier childhood
itself, children were trained under qualified and ablest masters by sending
them to schools of hermitage. There were taught how to control mind, and
trained in self-control, and truth. At maturity, if the wards have decided to
marry, their married and material life make them down from heaven. They married
for love, and they had soul life. Family duties are over, children settled in
life, children retired to a forest hermitage or secluded place for meditation.
In a God-centered life there is liberation.
“Jesus saw infants being suckled. He said to
his disciples, ‘These infantsbeing suckled are like those who enter the
kingdom.’ They said to him, ‘Shall we,
the, as children, enter the kingdom? Jesus said to them, ‘When you make the two
one, and when you make the male and female one and the same, so that male will
not be male nor female the female...then you will enter.’” Gospel of Thomas, verse 22
Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection;
and they asked him, saying, “Master, Moses wrote unto us, if a man’s brother
die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother
should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
For when they shall rise
from the dead, they neither marry, nor or given in marriage; but are as the
angels which are in heaven. And as touching the dead, that they rise; have ye
not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God unto him, saying, ‘I am the
God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God
of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.” Mark 12:18—27
Jesus chided the Sadducees for having made a rudimentary blunder by
mixing earthly edicts and heavenly experiences. They did not understand the
scriptures.
Physical marriage in this world is for practicing self discipline.
Couples learn spiritual discipline, and meditation in addition to sexual
sublimation through marriage. This is unnecessary for those souls who have
become immortals in heaven. Every liberated soul in heaven is married to God.
On physical plane a sexual union is requisite for physical birth. In spiritual
plane, all liberated souls have the same status. The are equal in the eyes of
God. Jesus said, “they are as the angels which are in heaven.”
Here the woman in question is childless widow of seven brothers. In
astral world she is sexless soul with an astral body. She cannot be wife of
anybody there. As per her karma, she
will be born on earth in another incarnation which may be better than the
present one.
Hence God signified to Moses, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and
Joacob who were incarnate on earth but their souls are living in Me. I am life Eternal. All things come out of
Me. They are all ever-living. Jesus
concludes, “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you're working with? I'm planning to start my own blog in the near future but I'm having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
