Bible Discourse 54 An Esoteric Perspective on The Lord’s Prayer

  Discourse 54
An Esoteric Perspective on The Lord’s Prayer

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, “Lord teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
And he said unto them, “When ye pray, say , ‘Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.  Give us day by day our daily bread.  And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.’”
                                                           Luke 11:1—4

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, “Blessed is the womb that bear thee and the paps which thou hast sucked.”
But he said, “Yea rather blessed are they that bear the word of God, and keep it.”
                                                               Luke 11:27—28.

Parallel reference:

“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the glory, for ever.  Amen.                                          Matthew 6:9—13

Jesus realized that the Absolute Reality of God as Spirit.

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seekethsuch to worship Him.  God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
                                                                                           John4:23—24
‘Hallowed be thy name’—hallowed is thy creation, holy is Thy creation,   manifestation, and Self-revelation, through the word, OM, Amen i.e., Holy Ghost.

Bhagavan Sri krishnasays in Bhagavad Gita
Nachamaam sakyase drashtu manenaiva swachakshusha
Divyam dadaatime chakshuh pasyame yoga maiswaram      Gita 11—8

You cannot see My Cosmic Macro body with your naked eyes. I am presenting you the third eye. With that see My Yogic transcendental power.
During the intense Kriya yoga sadhana, the third eye of the sadhak will be opened. With that eye only the sadhak can behold the Yogic power of Parabrahman, the director of the Universes.

Anekavaktra nayana manekaadbhuta darsanam
Aneka divyaabharanam divyaanekod yataayudham            Gita 11—10

Divya maalyaambara dharam divya gandhaanu lepanam
Sarvaascharya mayam devamanantam viswato mukham     Gita 11—11

Bhagavan has shown His Macro incarnation consisting of infinite faces, eyes, several wondrous panoramic things, adorned with several divine jewels, several divine raised weapons, divine flower garlands and clothes, besmeared with divine sandalwood pastes, full of marvel, effulgent, unending, and faces everywhere.

Divisoorya sahasrasya bhaved yugapa duddhitaa
Yadi bhaas sadrusee saa syaad bhaasastasya mahaatmanah Gita 11—12

If thousands of suns appeared simultaneously in the sky, their light is not equal to a fraction of the splendor of that Omnific Being.
As a kriyayoga sadhak, I had practically experienced it.

Tatraikastham jagatkrutsnam pravibhakta manekathaa
Apashyad devadevasya sareere paandava stathaa           Gita 11—13

Then Arjun saw the entire Cosmos with diversified manifestations at one place in the gigantic body of Bhagavan Srikrishna.
This sthiti, status, is experienced by me during my intense sadhana.

“O Lord my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty, who coverest Thyself with light as with garment.    Psalms 104:1—2

Why creation? Is the cosmos accidental, something God has created out of His own whimsy? Why did He do it? The Bible states: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou had created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.                                             Revelation 4:11
The answer to why creation is beyond logic. It is beyond human consumption.
Those in Samadhi or ecstasy tells: “He who knows, he knows; naught else knows.”
Jesus says: “Thy kingdom come.”  Here he affirms the transcendence of the Ultimate Reality. It is the essence of Creative Father.
‘Thy will be done’ is the karma yoga way of manifesting God in action.  Here  causation and manifestation—karma is expressed.
Sri Bhagavan uvaacha;

Aksharam Parabrahma paramam  Swabhaavodhyaatma uchyate
Bhoota bhaavodbhaavakaro visargah karma samgnitah                Gita 8—3
Sri Bhagavan said:
He Arjun,
The Supreme Spirit which is indestructible is called Brahman. The individual Soul and Kootastha Chaitanya which exists due to Spirit is called Adhyaatma. The Aum, Cosmic Vibration or Visarga, that causes births, deaths and dissolution of beings and their various natures is called Karma.
1) Brahmam: Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. This is called Sat. This is beyond Naada (Om Sound), Bindu (Energy), and Kala (Effulgence).  IT will manifest Itself as Kootastha Chaitanya.
This expresses Itself as unreal and physical Cosmos through OM and three Gunas, Satwa (positive), Rajas (Zero), and Tamas (negative), which is visible to the naked eyes. This OM is also called Visarga.
2) AAdhyaatmam:  This Kootastha Chaitanya is called Adhi Atma. This is also called TAT.
3) Karmamu: The result of wisdom that emanates from OM is called Karma. It is having cause and also effect. The whole world is bound by cause and effect.  Living beings and Cosmos shall give the bad and good results as per their respective duties.

Karmas are two types, worldly and Godly, Laukika and alaukika.
Ablutions, occupation, eating food are worldly Karmas.
Sandhyavandanam (chanting Gayatri Mantra), worshipping God, Fire ceremonies, and Kriya yoga sadhana are Godly Karmas.
These worldly and Godly actions (Karmas) are again divided into three types, Sanchita (Past), Prarabdha (Present), and Aagaami (Future).
If Godly actions are done with expectations (kartritwa bhavana) then it is bondage, without expectations (Nivritti) it is called salvation.
We cannot spend the money earned by us in one day or one month. Likewise the results of Karma in this birth cannot be experienced in the same birth. They will go on accumulating.  These accumulated karmas are called Sanchita Karmas.
Prabdhakarma is akin to the money we bring in from the bank to spend for that day or that month.
Aagaami depends upon the spending of the money we bring in. If we spend it for good cause then good Aagami Karma is added, if it is for bad purpose then bad Aagami karma is added.
Sanchita is past, Prarabdha is present, and Aagaami is future Karma.

Praarabdham bhogate bhunjaat  tatwagnaanena sanchitam
aagaami dwvidham proktam  tadveshti priyavaadinau

The Prarabdha karma, present karma, has to be experienced.  If one has the feeling with complete knowledge ‘’I am the God’’, then the Sanchita Karma, will be mitigated. The attachment or hatred towards anybody will attract AAgaami karma.

“Give us this day our daily bread”.  Here ‘bread’ means cosmic energy, the all-sustaining cosmic vibration of OM.
“Man shall not live by bread (material sustenance) alone, but by every word (unit of cosmic energy vibrating out of the Holy Ghost or omnipresent OM) that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (descends into the human body through the subtle astral center of life in the medulla oblongata)”                Matthew 4:4
“And forgive us our debts (our sins), as we forgive our debtors.”
It is expressed the Karmic law of cause and effect.
Jesus said: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father forgive you. But ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”                                     Matthew 6:14—15,  Mark 11:25—26
“Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” This is pure bhakti i.e., devotion. One should give oneself completely to God, with the totality of one’s faults and one’s virtues.
Karma, bhakti, Dhyana, and Gnaana  are Four parts of prayer. All the four are interdependent, and they are not independent. That is what Bhagavan Sri Krishna taught in Bahagvadgita.   Karma means you must do your part. That leads to dedication i.e., Bhakti. That leads to Dhyana i.e., one-pointedness. That leads to Gnana i.e., wisdom.
Prayer is the lifting up of the soul, the entire being of man/woman , to God. “The kingdom, the power, and the glory” is the universal experience of God realization.
‘The kingdom’ is the Infinite Intelligence, the source of the Reality of all manifestation.
‘The power’ is the Omnipotence of God’s divine will.
‘The glory’  of God is His love.
The God’s pure Intelligence, God’s pure will, and God’s pure love—the kingdom, power, and glory, all of God. God is Nameless Absolute. He is comprehensible in triune nature i.e., consciousness, existence, and divine love or bliss.
1)Consciousness—all pervading Omniscience,
2)Existence—cosmic will expressing as the objectification of life and all manifestation.
3)Bliss (divine love)—love perfected is bliss.  Bliss, love, and beauty—these are synonymous terms complementing each other.  Beauty is the harmonious manifestation of love; the perfection of love is bliss.
Rishis of India invoked God as Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram. It is a well known Sanskrit Mantra.
God’s consciousness is Truth.
God’s existence as manifestation and life is Goodness.
God’s bliss or love is beauty.

Jesus said: whosoever devotee hears the divine sound OM in meditation is a blessed soul. They are the true devotees. They will soon come to know how to keep continuity with that Cosmic Sound.  It guidance will transform the devotee’s life into life divine. God talks to His devotee through this OM, Holy Ghost.
OM is the comforter. Whether sheer intensity of devotion, or practice of Yoga, the devotee enters into interiorized silence. Then he hears the Cosmic Sound OM.  During deep meditative devotion, OM will vibrate and responds. It may be in words of intelligible language in audible form. Or it may be in luminous letters. As per the wishes of the devote, the letters may be audible or visible to a single devotee or group of devotees.  Listening to OM sound once or twice is not enough.  It must be continuously maintained.
There are ten principal manifestations of God by which God reveals to his devotee. –
1)   OM, Holy Ghost, or Cosmic Vibration.
2)   Cosmic Sound
3)   Cosmic Light
4)   Cosmic Intelligence
5)   Cosmic Wisdom
6)   Cosmic Devotion
7)   Cosmic Love
8)   Cosmic Peace
9)   Cosmic Calmness  &
10)Cosmic Bliss.
Remember if you beholds brilliant overspreading Cosmic Light or the luminous tri colored spiritual eye, consists of Cosmic vibration, Krishna/Christ Consciousness, and Cosmic Consciousness, then the devotee assuredly has God-contact. That Cosmic Light may take the form of the deity to whom the devotee was tuned to.  If the contact with this light intensifies, he need not read books, he will receive the knowledge directly for God the Father through intuition of soul.
Now some points to remember— If you contact God as—
1)   Cosmic Intelligence: perceives the working the divine laws of order and harmony that govern all creation.
2)   Cosmic Wisdom: perceive the manifested truth or intelligence through intuition. One may set aside the study of books.
3)   Cosmic Devotion: Devotee worships the Lord as the Father, Mother, or Friend etc.
4)   Cosmic Love: the devotee and God merge with each other. He will be in unending Samadhi or ecstasy.
5)   Cosmic Peace: This normally the devotee experiences in his first contact with OM, the Comforter. 6) Cosmic Calmness: (Be still, and know that I am God), 7)Cosmic Bliss: intoxicating.
It is the best way chant OM and get contacted with God in a personal way.  Continuous meditation on OM expands one’s consciousness.  He will realize Spirit or God the Father as Satchidananda—ever-existing, ever-conscious, and ever-new bliss.
Those who fill their consciousness with OM are intoxicated with the Joy felt in the Cosmic Sound, as were the disciples of Jesus after receiving the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost.                        Acts 2:1—21
