Bible Discourse 75 “Lo, I am with you always.” The resurrection of Jesus and his ever-living presence

Discourse 75
“Lo, I am with you always.”
The resurrection of Jesus and his ever-living presence
The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was dark, unto the sepulcher, and seeth the stone away from the sepulcher. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disc iple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him.”
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and come to the sepulcher.  So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulcher.  And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulcher, and seeth the linen clothes lie, and the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
Then went in also that other disciple, which came to the sepulcher, and he saw, and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.  Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.
But Mary stood without at the sepulcher weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulcher, and seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus lain.  And they said unto her, “Woman, why weepest thou?” She saith unto them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.”
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus saith unto her, “Woman, why weepest thou? Whom sleekest thou?”
She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, “Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.”
Jesus saith unto her, “Mary.”
She turned herself, and saith unto him, “Rabboni”; which is to say, Master.
Jesus saith unto her, “Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them. I ascend unto my Father, and to my God, and your God.
Mary Magdalene came and told disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.
                                                                          John 20:1—18
(Variant telling recorded in the Gospel according to St. Luke)
Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was  yet in Galilee, saying, “The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”  And they remembered his words, and returned from the sepulcher, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulcher, and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.  And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus drew himself near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
And he said unto them, “What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?”
And the  one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, “Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and had not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?”
And he said unto them, “What things?”
And they said unto him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a  prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.  But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulcher; and when they found not his body, they come, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.  And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulcher, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.”
Then he said unto them, “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?”  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them to all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further. But they constrained him, saying, “Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.”  And he went to tarry with them.
And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.  And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
And they said one to another, “Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way,, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”
A nd they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.” And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, “Peace unto you.”  But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
And he said unto them, “Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.”  And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, “Have ye here any meat?” And they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.  And he took it, and did eat before them.
And he said unto them, “These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”  Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, “Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
                                                                               Luke 24:1—49
(Additional details recorded in the Gospel according St. John)
Then same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, “Peace be unto you.”  And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
Then said Jesus to them again, “Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, “We have seen the Lord.”
But he said unto them, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace be unto you.”
Then saith he to Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.”
And Thomas answered and said unto him, “My Lord and my God.”
Jesus saith unto him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
                                                              John 20:19—31
All things are possible unto God and His great disciples. We have assurance through resurrection, that not only the Soul but also the body of the great devotees of His, both are immortal. It is umpteen proved that the Soul is superior to matter. The life and death drama of Jesus was a testament to this. Matter-bound souls can be triumphant over the delusive power of Cosmic Satan.
Minimizing the repetition, undesired portions were removed. There may be variance in four Gospels. The resurrection is narrated in all the four Gospels. Bible verses from the four Gospels were arranged in this narration to impressive reading.  Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20 and 21.
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”  Corinthians 15:26.  See also Saint Paul’s words about Jesus in Hebrews 2:14—15
“Forasmuch then as (men) are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Resurrection means to rise again from mortal body to soul oneness with Cosmic Conscious, merger with God the Father. Lazarus and others were also resurrected so that they were given an opportunity to transcend spiritually not materially.
Mary Magdalene was the first disciple to see him on Easter morning. Jesus said: “Touch me not: for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them. I ascend unto my Father, and to my God, and your God.”  Jesus prophesied that he would rise again after three days or on the third day after his crucifixion. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Temple means body.
The liberated body of Jesus required three steps for quickly ascending to full liberation in God the Father. Thus he would quickly be able to free his soul again from physical, astral, and causal limitations.
In deep Samadhi  the soul retains its residence in the physical body.  Mahasamadhi is complete mergence into Cosmic Consciousness. So, when Jesus entered into Mahasamadhi, he returned to his yet to be relinquished astral form. There in Christ ecstasy he was unloosing the knots of life and consciousness which were of the earthly incarnations. Human nature is an interaction of three gunas i.e., qualities. They are Satwa (positive or good), rajas (neutral), and tamas (negative or bad).  The seeds of past actions were stimulated by these three qualities.  They are firmly lodged in astral and causal bodies of the physically dead.

Bhagavan srikrishna says:

Prakriteh Kriyamaanaani Gunaih Karmaani Sarvasah
Ahamkaaravimoodhaatmaa Kartaahamiti manyate        Gita 3—27
In fact all the acts are being performed due to the in born natural qualities. Gnani performs them contemplating that Parabrahman is the Karta, the doer, not him. The egoistic ignorant man feels that he is the Karta. This is the difference.
Prakrite Gunasammoodhaah Sajjante Gunakarmasu
Taanakritsna Vidomandaan Kritsnavinna Vichaalayet        Gita 3—29
Influenced by qualities of Nature, people are completely attached and are more and more interested in those respective qualities and Karmas. Such half knowledged, dull headed and ignorant people should not be made to oscillate by men of wisdom. People who have just started sadhana, should not be ridiculed or slighted by the well advanced Yogis.

Jesus said: These qualities (gunas) inherent within the body imprison the body. Having transcended the three modes of Nature, man is released from the sufferings of birth, and death.  He attains immortality. If man is locked in three rooms, one inside the other, it will require the unlocking of three locks. At death the soul is unlocked from physical room. It is yet to come out of two other rooms, astral and causal.

Sattwam rajastama iti gunaah prakruti sambhavaah
Nibadhnanti mahaabaaho dehe dehina mavyayam     Gita 14—5
O mighty armed Arjuna, the three Gunas, Satwa (positive, pure), Rajas (neutral, passion), and Tamas (negative, inertia), that borne out of Prakriti, are binding the Pure Soul, the imperishable, to this perishable body.
Gunaanetaanateetya treen deheedeha samudbhavaan
Janmamrityu jaraadukkhai rvimukto mrutamasnute       Gita 14—20
The self or Jeeva, after crossing all these three Gunas which are responsible for the manifestation of this body, is rid of birth, death, oldage, and misery.  Then he attains immortal salvation which is the state of Pure Soul.

Yadaa sattwe pravruddhetu pralayam yaati dehabhrut
Tadottama vidaam lokaanamalaan  pratipadyate              Gita 14—14
When the devotee or sadhak dies during the rise of Sattwa guna, then he is getting birth in the houses of people with great wisdom, pure hearted Rishis, Munis, saints, and Yogis.

Sarvayonishu kaunteya moortayas sambhavantiyaah
Taasaam brahma mahaadyoni raham beejapradah pita   Gita 14—4

O Arjun, whatever forms that are coming out from men, Devas etc, ––Maaya (primordial Nature) is the Mother, I am the seed providing Father.
Cause and effect is the essence behind Creation.
The potter has made the pot with mud using a machine.

Here the potter is the Efficient cause (nimitta kaaranam),
Mud is the material cause (Dravya or Upaadaana kaaranam)
Machine is the Instrumental cause (Sadhanaa kaaranam)

Paramaatma, God the Father, made the creation with Maya within Him.
Here Paramaatma is efficient, material, and instrumental causes. All is Paramaatma only.
Within the physical spine is the astral spine or sushumna. Within the astral sushumna spine is the vajra tunnel. Within the vajra is the chitra tunnel. Within chitra exists the  Brahmanadi. By transistioning through the three fold astral spine of sushumna, vajra, and chitra, the yogi is in a causal body encasing. The outer portion is called causal spine. The innermost channel is called Brahmanadi. Then the yogi merges with Infinite Brahman or spirit.
The yogi can attain freedom by not only opening his third eye, when leaves the Christ-body i.e. blue effulgence and enter into the white silver star. This departure is through the seventh astral centre called sahasrara or thousand petaled lotus. This occult portal is known as Brahma’s door or Brahmarandhra.
In the astral region is the reigning Holy Ghost or OM vibration. In the causal is the God the Son, or Christ Consciousness. The vibrationless infinite beyond, reached through the star in the spiritual eye, is the boundless region where Cosmic Consciousness, God the Father, dwells. This is revealed through KRIYA YOGA practice.
Ascension to liberation is not achieved through affirmations, prayers, or desultory attempts at meditation. You must use scientific practice of kriyayoga. You must penetrate the spiritual eye. No soul, no saint, no Christ, or no Buddha has resurrected himself without entering this inner door. One must free the soul from the physical, astral, and idea bodies. Then only one can merge with the Formless Absolute.
Jesus has burnt all karma, bad or good. He had burnt all his qualities or gunas. He has become nothing but God only. Jesus could then put on his bodyat will. That is how Jesus had recreated his deceased body after ascending in Spirit.
Brahmarandhra is the door between two creations, material and spiritual. When Ego, the son of man, comes to the door, he comprehends the Spiritual Light and becomes baptized therein. And passing through this door he comes above the ideational creation of Darkness, Maya, and entering into the spiritual world, receives the True Light and becomes the the Son of God. He overcomes all bondage of Darkness, Maya.  He becomes possessed of all Aishwarya, the ascetic majesties…
Cosmic energy in the body works as five specialized currents, empowering the performance  of the crystallizing (prana), assimilating (samana), eliminating (apana), metabolizing (udana), and circulatory (vyana) activities of the body.
In a plant each part which has life and intelligence, can grow into a plant.   But in human body, life is highly centralized in the medulla.  This is called ‘mouth of God.’  The medulla or heart should not be damaged during trance also otherwise life force cannot enter into the body and there arose physical death. Having understood the relation between the Cosmic Life and specialized life in the body, Jesus could revive life in the body of Lazarus in spite of decaying for four days. The soul cannot gone out of the body. That is why he could say: I lay down my life, that I might take it again. This commandment my Father has given me.
Brahman is the reality. It is the pure Consciousness reflected in Maya. As a result the insentient things gain consciousness. The proton, electron, neutron, neutrino, and photon are all conscious within their respective limits.
In reality the physical body is divine light. Jesus said: “if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body full of Light.”     The science of Yoga provides the means of resurrection and ascension to every soul. KRIYAYOGA has been brought forward after being lost in the dark age. It is a definite method to hasten the spiritual ascension.
Saint Paul said: “I protest by our rejoicing which I have in Christ…I die daily.”
                                                                                  Corinthians 15:31
Kriya yoga or a similar technique was known by Saint Paul.

Bahagavan Srikrishna says:
Abhayam sattwa samsuddhir  Gnaana yoga vyavasthtah
Daanam Damascha Yagnascha  Swaadhyaayam Tapa aarjavam                                        Gita 16—1
Ahimsaa satyama krodhaas tyaagaas saanti rapaisunam
Dayaa bhooteshva lolastwam maardavam hreera chaapalam Gita 16—2
Tejah kshamaa dhrutissaucha madroho naatimaanitaa
Bhavanti sampadam daivee mabhi jaatasya bhaarata            Gita 16—3

Sri Bhagavaan said:
O Arjun, fearlessness, purity of Antahkarana (heart), be in Gnaanayoga, charity, control of senses within and without, performing Gnaanayagna, study of scriptures, penance, not having covetousness, not to cause pain to any creature (to murder animals in the name of sacrifice is atrocity), non violence, compassion to all creatures,  to take shelter in Paramaatma (God the Father), truthfulness, not having anger, sacrifice, not to carry tails, not having undue interest in acquiring things, tenderness, feeling shame to do unrighteous things, lack of restlessness, radiance of character, patience, endurance, courage, having clean heart within and without, not to harm anybody, not having egoistic ‘I- ness’, not having the quality of ‘one up-man-ship’—are the qualities of virtue inherent in the people born with godly nature.
When sadhana is advancing, these godly qualities will be adhered to the sadhak. So one should do Kriyayoga sadhana trusting the will power given to him by Parabrahman.than cursing the past karma.
English modern medicine, Ayurveda, the age old medicine, Prakriti Vaidya medicine, or Homeo medicines, all are the creations of Parabrahman only.
So it is not compatible to say that one particular branch of medicine is superior to all others.
English medicine pertains to physical body.  It pertains to first three chakras, Moolaadhara, Swadhishtaana, and Manipura.
Homeo medicine pertains to physical and subtle bodies.  It pertains to Moolaadhara, Swadhishtaana, Manipura, and Anaahata chakraas..
In Ayurveda medicine Pitta (Heat), vaayu (Air), and Kapha (moisture) should be in proper proportions failing which disease takes place. This pertains to Moolaadhara, Swadhishtaana,  Manipura, Anaahata, and Visuddha chakraas.
In Prakriti Vaidya (Naturopathy), body house cleaning is important ingredient. For this they make the person to drink lemon juice, and Ginger juice. Mud will be applied to the body and after some time the person will be bathed.  Like this several other things will be there in Naturopathy. This pertains to  pertains to Moolaadhara, Swadhishtaana,  Manipura, Anaahata, Visuddha, and  Aagna chakraas.
Yoga postures and controlling Praanaa through the procedures  of Ashtaanga yoga of Pataanjali pertain to Moolaadhara, Swadhishtaana,  Manipura, Anaahata, Visuddha,  Aagna chakraas, and Sahasraara chakras. Hence it is pertaining to  Physical, subtle, and Idea bodies. Therefore real Medicine or Holistic approach is Meditation only.

After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.  There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. Simon  Peter saith unto them, “I go afishing.”  They say unto him, “We also go with thee.”  They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.  But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore; but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
Then Jesus saith unto them, “Children, have ye any meat?”
They answered him, “No.”
And he said unto them, “Cast the nest on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find.”  They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it from the multitude of fishes.
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, “It is the Lord.”  Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.  As soon as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and a fish laid thereon, and bread.
Jesus saith unto them, “Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.”
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.
Jesus saith unto them, “Come and dine.”  And none of the disciples durst ask him, “Who art thou?” knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.  This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?
He saith unto him, “Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.”
He saith unto him, “Feed my lambs.”
He saith to him again the second time, “Simon. Son of Jonas, lovest thou me?”
He saith unto him, “Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.”
He saith unto him, “Feed my sheep.”
He saith unto him the third time, ‘Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me?”
Peter was grieved because he said unto him, “Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.”
Jesus saith unto him, “Feed my sheep. Verily, verily I say unto thee, when thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.”  This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God.  And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, “Follow me.”
Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper and said, “Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?” Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, “Lord, and what shall this man do?”
Jesus saith unto him, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me.”
Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, “He shall not die”; but, “If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?”
This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.  And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written  every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
                                                                               John 21:1—25
(Jesus’ final words to the disciples, and his ascension into heaven, as recorded in Matthew and Mark )
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  Amen.
                                                                         Matthew 28:16—20
And he said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.  And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
So after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.  Amen.
Mark 16:15—20 The immanent transcendent consciousness of resurrected Jesus was purely of God. His disciples got perplexed in spite of knowing Jesus. The perplexity continued, “knew not that it was Jesus”, until he filled their empty nets with fishes. Even then none of them dared to dine with them—“none of the disciples durst ask him’Who art thou?’ knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesus said: because of your karmic weakness you have denied thrice your association with me. “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”  To confirm his blessing, Jesus asked peter three times on the shore of the sea of Galilee (Tiberias) to reaffirm his love for his master.  And to shoulder the responsibility with dedication as a Good Shepherd of souls: “Feed my sheep.”  With Peter’s positive response, three times Jesus reinforced Peter’s faith that would sustain him in his impending persecution that would come in future.
Jesus said: “When thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.”  But of John Jesus said that he “will tarry till I come.”  John had a unique contribution to the mission of Jesus.
The story in regard to fate of Apostles goes that John miraculously survived the persecutors out of all others. John eventually retired to to the isle of Patmos and lived upto a very old age. John wrote vividly in the Book of Revelation.  He wrote his own personal realization of the esoteric teachings of Jesus. It is nothing but ancient science of yoga meditation.
According to the Gospels of Saints Matthew and Mark, Jesus instructed them for salvation is as follows: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. : and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  And: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he believeth not shall be damned.”  That is of any race or nationality who knows through his own self-realization and who receives the spiritual baptism of immersion in the Holy Ghost Cosmic Vibration, the great Comforter or OM, which lifts the soul to Christ Consciousness (the Son), and Cosmic Consciousness (the Father) “shall be saved.”
“in my name” means Christ Consciousness through the Holy Ghost Cosmic Vibration.
“They shall take up serpents” means by uplifting the subtle kundalini ‘serpent force’ through the awakened astral centers of the spine and the brain to attain God consciousness.   Realizing unity with Spirit gives immunity to ‘any deadly thing.’
“Jesus said: ‘I am the light that is over all things. am all: from me came all forth, and to me all attained. Split a piece of wood; I am there, Lift up the stone, and you will find me there.”                        Gospel of Thomas, verse 77.
What Jesus means that in living and non-living things, every atom and cell of capacious cosmos Krishna/Christ consciousness exists.

Sri Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita:

Gneyam yattat pravakshyaami yagnaatwaa mruta masnute

The Parabrahman, God the Father, is the only thing to be known. This is shining all the sense faculties, yet transcending the senses, It itself is not having any senses, It is unattached, sustains of everything, not having any Gunas (Satwa, Rajas, and Tamo), It exists within and without of beings, It is Movable and unmovable,  cannot be grasped by ignorant as it is very subtle, It is nearer and also farther,  It is indivisible but appears to be divisible among the living beings, manifests the beings, sustains, and destroy them.
And it is the Light of all Lights, Light of Suns and Moons, It is different and beyond from Ignorant Tamas, embodiment of pure wisdom, embodiment of bliss, the only thing that is to be Known, has to be attained with Pure wisdom, and is said to be the Dweller of all hearts.
