Adhyaatmika Ramayanam
Adhyaatmika
Ramayanam in brief:
Mala vikshepana
Avarana Doshas:
Mala,
Vikshepana
Due
to tamoguna (-ve) causal body will
have mala & vikshepana Doshas.
Due
to rajoguna (neutral) causal body will have avarana dosha.
Dosha means
faux pas or fault.
Tamoguna Doshaas:
Mala means soiled. This fault comes due
to ego. This can be removed by practicing Nishkama karma
yoga. That is doing our duties without expecting the result.
Avarana dosha means the true configuration is
camouflaged and shown as a different configuration. Here the soul is made
to appear as a limited one due to the effect of tamoguna.
Rajoguna Doshas:
Due to vikshepana
dosha of rajoguna in Maya the whole creation is subjected to
1) Arishadvargaas – kama (desire), krodha (anger), lobha (Greediness), moha (delusion), mada (Pride)
& maatsarya (envy).
2) Attachment
(raga), Repulsion (dwesha), happiness (sukh) & misery (dukh).
3) Selfishness,
love affection, kindness, pleasure, Satisfaction, disSatisfaction etc.
Due to these mala, vikshepana, avarana
doshaas the causal body will have:
1) Attachment to
body (dehavasana), kartritvam (I am doing), Bhoktritvam (I
am to
enjoy), eeshana trayam i.e., dhaneshana (attachment to
material pleasure like owning land, money & vehicles
etc; daareshana (this is my wife, I should Satisfy her at the cost of
others) and putreshana (attachment to his progeny or offspring) and
interest in fame.
2) Attachment to
reading of books and writing of books (shastra vaasana).
3) Attachment to
his environmental living (loka vaasana).
Due to the above, one will have
Ignorance (avidya), Asmita (fear or
ego),Attachment (raga), repulsion (dwesha) and Body bound inclination and fear
of death (both are called abhinivesa. These five
things are called five miseries or pancha kleshaas.
Avarana means
hiding power, vikshepana means expanding power. Baalyam (Infancy) means
undeveloped sudra state. Yavvanam (Youth) means developing waisyaa
state. Kaumaram (middle age) means capable of ruling kshatriya state.
Vaardhakyam (Old age)means wisdom experienced of Brahman
state. With the gained wisdom one understands the emptiness of this
physical world and hence tries for reunion of Atman with Brahman.
Due to the
influence of Tamoguna Karanashareera(Causal body) will have Mala and Avarana
Doshas, and because of Rajoguna vikshepana Dosha.
When a Lantern
chimney is painted by Black smoke then the burning wick cannot be visible.
Likewise due to Maladosha the Paramatma within us becomes invisible.
We will mistake
the rope as Snake due to superimposition of darkness. So Avarana
dosha or fault occurs due to Tamoguna ignorance of unsteady mind.
Love and
hatred, selfishness, love, affection, kindness, Happiness, Contentment, dissatisfaction,
Kama, krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and Matsarya etc are the vikshepana doshas.
This is due to ego.
Due to Mala,
Avarana and Vikshepana doshas the Karana shareera will have 1) body attachment
i.e., kartritwadoshas, 2)attachment towards Finance, Offspring, and spouse,
fame mongerism, 3) interest in Sastras, and 4) worldly attachment.
Because of this man will have Asmita, Ragadwesha and Abhinivesa.
Asmita means
Ego, Ragadwesaha means attraction and repulsion, Abhinivesha means attachment
to his body.
Sadhak, the
Meditator confronts three steps during his Sadhana. They are 1)Adibhautika,
Physical, 2) Adidaivika, Subtle, and 3) Adhyatmika, Spiritual.
1)Adibhautika,
Physical: —Bodily pains etc.,
2) Adidaivika,
Subtle: — Mind related problems like thoughts, sub thoughts etc.,
3) Adhyatmika,
Spiritual: — Sadhana related problems like Sleep, lazyness etc.
These are called Mala, Aavarana and Vikshepana
Doshas, faults. Sadhak, Kriyayogi, seeing unity with Parabrahman, shall
be cautious about these things. To make mind steady one has to annihilate these
three faulty steps.

Mooladhara,
Swadhistaana and Manipura Chakras are called Mundane Chakras. This field is
called Kurukshetra. Man/Sadhak confined to this field does not do any good,
spitual Sadhana and always self centered. This field is also called Brahma
Granthi, a knot.
Manipura,
Anahata and Visuddha, Chakras are called Mundane—Spiritual Chakras. This field
is called Kurukshetra—Dharmakshetra. Sadhak confined to this field does have
mixed mundane and spiritual feelings.
Even though self centered he does think
about spiritual Sadhana. This field is
also called Rudra Granthi, a second
knot.
Visuddha,
Agna negative & Positive and SahasraraChakras are called Spiritual or
Devine Chakras. This field is called Dharmakshetra. Sadhak confined to this
field does only good, Spiritual Sadhana and always God centered. This field is
also called Vishnu Granthi, a third and last
knot.
Gautama--Ahalya:
Ahalya was the wife of the Great sage
(Rishi) Gautama, who is one amongst the Saptarishis. He is the author of Nyaya
sastra, one of the six upangaas of Vedas. Gautama was preaching pure
Gnaana/Spiritual knowledge to Ahalya. At the time of preaching the mind of
Ahalya was not steady. Her mind was turned towards worldly affairs. The
reason for this disturbed mind was Indriyas/senses. The king of senses was
Indra the mind. Finding her unsteady/not attentive she has been warned by
Gautama ‘na’ ‘halya’ i.e., not to move, be steady like a stone. That is the
story of Gautama cursing Ahalya. He also told his wife Ahalya to be in
this state for a long time and do intensive KRIYAYOGA DHYANA. Spiritual
knowledge can be gained only through intensive and long KRIYAYOGA DHYANA
with a one pointed steady mind. Unsteady mind can not grasp pure knowledge.
Steadying the mind is Dhyana. In that state Ram i.e., the Cosmic energy will
reach Mooladhara chakra and awaken the Kundalinee which was in sleeping state
till that time. That is the psalm of life. The one who does not do meditation
at all is equal to the animal with animal tendencies. Do the normal daily work.
Then do sadhana also along with it. Enter the kingdom of God. Then continue the
sadhana with intensity for a long time with steady and one pointed mind without
neglecting your day to day Karma. Be one with God the almighty.
KUNDALINI: This kundalini is nothing but 3 ½ turns coiled serpent
like sleeping outgoing life force in the anus with its hood or head beneath
the Mooladhara chakra or Coccy geal
plexus and tail will be in up in the chakras.
Adhyaatma Ramayanam:
Ayodhya means salvation. Dasarath is its
king Parabrahma. He had three wives.
Kausalya—Wisdom power(Gnaanashakti), Sumitra—Action power(Kriyashakti), and
Kaikeyi—will power(Ichchaashakti). Pure wisdom(Suddhabuddhi)—Sri Ram, is the
son of Kausalya—Wisdom power(Gnaanashakti). I trait (Ahamtatwa)— Lakshman,
Detatchment (Vairagya tatwa)—Satrughna, are the sons of Sumitra—Action
power(Kriyashakti). Salvation inclined Sadhak (Mokshechcha)— Bharat, is the son
of Kaikeyi—will power(Ichchaashakti).
Bharat, the son of Kaikeyi—will power(Ichchaashakti),
is the Sadhak. Hence forth
Bharat will be referred as Kriyayoga Sadhak. Sage Vassisht is the first Kriyayoga Guru. So the
Suddhabuddhi Sri Ram and Ahamtatwa Lakshman are required to be handed over to
another Kriya yoga Guru Sage/hermit Viswamitra Maharshi for further training.
That is the inherent meaning of sending Suddhabuddhi along with Sri Viswamitra
to protect his Yagna.
Here sadhak starts
removing negative forces by killing Demon Tatak
in him. The pure wisdom(Suddhabuddhi) is being trained to become
absolutely pure. So Avarana dosha surrounding the mind is being removed.
Moolaadhara chakra is awakened. Mala vikshepana and Avarana doshas(faults) are
required to be removed for merging with God the father. In this process Demon
Maareecha (Vikshepana dosha) and Demon subaahu(Mala dosha) are to be removed
with Suddhabuddhi. Moolaadhar represents will power(Ichchaashakti),
Swaadhistaana represents action power (kriyaashakti) and Manipura represents
wisdom power(Gnaanashakti).
Now Guru Vishwamitra takes Suddhabuddhi to
Mithila i.e., solitude as Suddhabuddhi requires some more training of further
awakening Kundalinee power i.e., Sita.
On the way he bestows to Ahalya from the
deliverance of a curse. Ravan, the king of desires, also comes for the
kundalinee awakening but abruptly discontinues and returns to Sri Lanka, the
circuit of mundane existence(Samsaar), due to impatience. Desires always
dissuades the Kriyayoga sadhak from
meditation and makes him to go back to Samsaar.
The pure intellect(Suddhabuddhi)
of Saadhak wanted to become absolutely
pure. It will try to tame the Kundalini,
the daughter of Janaka. Janaka represents peace & tranquillity. Tamed
kundalini will present peace & tranquillity.
The breaking of
Sivadhanush(the bow of Lord Siva) represents the firm determination of the
Suddhabuddhi of Sadhak to awaken Kundalini further. So Suddhabuddhi marries Sita, the Kundalini
power. Kundalini
power is individualized MAYA (Micro cosm). Vivaha means
Marriage in Sanskrit. Vi=Vishista Vaaha= vehicle. In nutshell Vivaha means the
great vehicle i.e., KRIYAYOGA SADHANA. So through intensified Kriyayoga Sadhana
the sadhak wanted to tame Kundalini.
Lakshman marries Urmila(sleep), Bharat marries Maandavi (Kriyayoga
Sadhana), Satrughna marries Shritakeerti (fame). Naturally the sadhak adopts
Kriya yogasadhana so as to make his Suddhabuddhi to tame Kundalini, the
individualized Maya. For this his Lakshman(Aham tatwa) i.e., I ness should
adopt sleep. IF AHAM TATWA IN THE SADHAKA BECOMES PREDOMINANT THEN IT BECOMES
AHAMKARA(EGO). Breaking of bow of Lord Vishnu taken from PARSURAMJI represents intense Kriya yoga
sadhana. Encouraged by intense Kriya
yoga sadhana the suddhabuddhi of saddhak becomes more purified. Here the sadhak
crosses Rudragandhi or in yoga parlance
it is called Rudragandhi vichchedana.
RAMAKRISHNA PARAMA
HAMSA used to say Suddha buddhi Suddha manas(Pure mind) and Suddha Atma(pure
soul) are all one and the same.
Crossing of all
three Grandhis(read above note) i.e., Brahma grandhi, Rudra grandhi and Vishnu
Grandhi are quintessential for abtaining Moksha.
With his advise Paramatma wanted to give
salvation/Moksha to the Kriya yoga
Sadhak. However he is not fully ripened to get salvation/Moksha. The sadhak is
required to do Kriya yoga sadhana for 14 years with intensity and longer
time. In Tretayuga prevailing at that
time, 14 years of intense sadhana is
required. Now in this ascending Dwapara yuga
12 years of intense Kriyayoga
sadhana and one year of intense sadhana in solitude is required to merge with
the spirit. Provoked by Manthara (the one who bears the mind) pesters
Paramaatma to bestow the two vows promised by him to Suddhabuddhi and
Ahamtatwa. They are :1) 14 years years of
intense sadhana in solitude(Aranyavas) and followed by 2)Salvation or Pattaabhishekam or entering
into the kingdom of God to the
Mumukshu/Sadhak The role of Paramaatma
is over. So he retires. Bharat means Sadhak wanted to do 14 years
intense sadhana for the absolute
purification of intellect which will lead to Moksha.
Guh(Chitta—the
sphere of thinking) the boatman helps suddhabuddhi, Ahamtatwa and
Kundalinee to cross river Sarayu(the circuit of mundane
existence—samsaar). Until and unless the pure intellect becomes
absolutely pure, the sadhak cannot attain Moksha. In this process getting
absolute purification the suddhabuddhi is helped by the positive forces in him
namely Sages Atri, Sarabhanga, Suteekshana and Agastya and the negative forces
like demon Viraadh are also destroyed. Suddhabuddhi intensifies Sadhana by
constructing a Parnasala(by sitting in proper posture) in Panchavati. This body
is made of five Panchabhootas(ether, air, fire, water and earth). So it is
called Panchavati.
In
spite of doing sadhana the Maya induces the pure intellect to get seduced. So
kaamavaasana i.e., lustful desires in the form of she demon Surpanakha takes
birth. Because of contemplated intense sadhana the pure intellect as well as
I-ness both will be dissuaded from the lustful desires. Not accepting the
defeat easily the negative forces i.e., lustful desires will
try to confront the pure intellect with a bang. So the two demon brothers
viz.,Khara and Dooshana along with 14000 other negative forces will try to
spoil the pure intellect(Suddhabuddhi). All are negated by pure intellect. That
is the intention of Sita, Kundalinee or individualized Maya to provoke the pure
intellect to get the Golden deer. That means when pure intellect is disturbed,
the Kundalinee will be in the control of weakling I-ness(Lakshman). Being in
the control of I-ness now, it sends I-ness to follow the disturbed pure
intellect. Then automatically kundalinee will be encompassed by Ravan, the king
of desires. In that process the morality(Jatayu bird)in him awakens and tries
to dissuade the king of desires but in vain.
The
disturbed pure intellect returns to normality and tries to set right its house.
This steady pure intellect leads to meeting Hanuman. Hanu=to kill, man=mind.
Hanuman means steady mind this leads to
meet Sugreeva, the king of Vanaras i.e., monkeys. Su= auspicious, Greeva=
sound. Va=varishta(great), naraas=men. Sugreeva means the auspicious sound
OMKAR. Vanaras means positive forces. So
the Sadhak shall hear the auspicious sound OMKAR due to the assistance of
Positive forces accompanied by fixed mind within him. But so far the auspicious
sound OMKAR is hindered due to Vali i.e., the fear within the Sadhak. With the
fixed mind the fear/Bhayam Vali in the
sadhak is laid to rest.
After
hearing the auspicious Om sound the fixed mind(Hanuman) contacts kundalinee
lying underneath the Moolaadhar chakra. Moolaadhara chakra is on the south and
Sahasraara chakra is on the north side of the Sadhak.
The
fixed mind(Hanuman) informs the Kundalinee underneath the Mooladhara chakra of
the sadhak about the impending coming of Suddhabuddhi i.e., the pure intellect
becoming absolutely pure so as to attain the salvation. Salvation means the
individualized Maya merging with God the father(Parabrahma).
The Manipura chakra is
of red colour with 10 rays. So this is also called RAVANA CHAKRA. Then the
kundalinee wanting to become completely awakened cries for help calling “RAMA” loudly. Then
Rama i.e.Suddhabuddhi understands the
trouble through Annahata chakra. This chakra is also called VAYU CHAKRA since
it is the place of air element. Anjaneya is the son of Vayu. A gland viz.,
Thymus gland is responsible for immunization (roga nirodhaka sakti). Through
this gland “RAM” understands the
obstruction in Manipura chakra with the help of Anjaneya. This whole procedure
is done through VAGUS nerve. This is known as CHOODAAMANI. This is the reason
that one should do pranayaama, if wanted to be healthy.
Remember that Maya is part and parcel
of God the Father.
The king of desires will put fire to the tail of
Hanumanji i.e., the fixed mind is to be
made unsteady so that the attainment of
becoming one with Parabrahman of Sadhak can be weakened. The fixed mind
puts off the fire i.e., nullify all the negative forces that are obstructing
the noble ideal of Sadhak to become one with Parabrahman.
Vibheeshan(Satwagun-positive virtuous quality)
counsels the king of desires to hand over Sita-the kundalinee force-the
individualized Maya to Sri Ramji-Suddhabuddhi(Pure intellect). That is complete
awakening of Kundalinee. Angered by this i.e. the impatient king of
desires-Ravan completely discards Satwagun and excommunicates that Satwagun.
Suddhabuddhi gives shelter to Satwagun. The Satwagun will further strengthens
the determination of Sadhak to attain Moksha. Here the AGNACHAKRA is awakened.
Now in the process of becoming absolutely pure , the
pure intellect in the Sadhak will make a
bridge to reach SAHASRARACHAKRA for the attainment of complete and absolute
bliss. This is called LANKA SETU/VARADHI.
Then there exists a final and ferocious conflict
between Positive and negative forces within the Sadhak.
Hanumanji bringing Sanjeevani for Lakshmanji to bring him back to consciousness amounts to
the absolute fixed mind making Ahamtatwa
(I-ness) to become positively soulful and conscious for the attainment of
Moksha. Ahamtatwa (I-ness) getting
completely nullifying is the victory of Lakshman over Indrajit. Indra=Senses,
Jit=victorious. The Ahamtatwa (I-ness) destroys the traits of Indriyas/senses
completely and becomes absolutely pure.
There are 72,000 subtle
nadis existing in each and every human being. Three subtle nadis viz., Ida, pingala and sushumna are very very
important for yogi. In the centre of
spinal cord exists sushumna nadi. On
both sides of it exist ida/Chandra nadi (left) (-ve) & pingala/surya nadi
(right) (+ve).
The Manipurachakra near the navel contains 10 rays.
Hence it is called RAVANAChakra. By doing pranayaama
the obstructive force at Manipura (behind navel) is destroyed to pave the way
for free flow of life force from Sahasrara. Man gains his health. If kundalinee life force is not passed
through Sushumna then the Gnanashakti (the wisdome force) is destroyed. Again
and again the man becomes egoistic and and becomes king of desires. That is
symbolically shown as Ravan’s heads getting alive again and again even after
they are axed. Rama pierces the stomach
of Ravan with advise of Vibheeshana(Satwaguna) and kills him. This is what is
called SRIRAMA destroying / cauterizing / drying the amritabhandam in the
stomach of Ravana. Amrita (Nectar) Bhandam (Utensil).
Obstructive forces
are eternal like nectar to a normal man.
Maya (Nature/SitaDevi) for ordinary man does not die. Continuous prolonged &intensive Yoga sadhana is required for janmaraahitya/ Kriyaparavastha/ Moksha/complete liberation. Then only Nature dies for saadhaka. To show that Nature does not die the Seeta Agni pravesa story is intended. Agni pravesa means to burn oneself in fire. Fire brings out Seetaa(prakriti/ maya ) unscathed. Sita is Ayonija. Ayonija means Sita is not born out of ordinary yoni(vagina). Sita i.e., Maya is fully subservient & under the control of Paramaatma. Only under the control of paramaatma only Maya works.

Saadhak’s pure intellect becomes
absolutely pure. Now Sadhak is completely liberated. This is called Sri Ram
Pattaabhishek.
