Casting out Devils

And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth?  art thou come to destroy us?  I know thee who thou art; the Holy one of God?”

And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Hold thy pass, and come out of him.”  And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, “What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out,  “And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house.  And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.  And  he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them..

On many occasions Jesus drove away the evil spirits from the afflicted persons.  In woman of Canaan and her daughter, they were grievously vexed with a devil. Jesus healed through mother’s great faith in him.

This work  of Jesus is beyond logic.

There is a difference between psychological obsession and disembodied spirits.   

Synagogue is a place where people go in order to get their soul healed by inspiring sermons. Jesus healed a man possessed by an unclean  devil.  By long practice of meditation, one can transfer his will beyond the portals of conscious and subconscious mind into super conscious.  According to one’s karma one will be confined to higher or lower astral spheres.  Because of strong material desires and attachments some souls are earth bound after shedding this physical body. They are at the lowest ebb of astral world. They are called tramp souls.   They roam in the ether. To satisfy their desires they are desirous of reentering a physical form to satisfy their senses.  They cannot do things by themselves. They are like parasites.  They take the help of other souls. They enter into weak souls. 

The disincarnate astral consciousness of a bad person have devilish behavior. Many wicked beings experience strange experiences after physical death. Those devilish minded people experience horrible astral nightmares in accordance with their karma.  The devilish minded people will have little or long sleep according their karma on earthly life.                  

Only souls by doing yoga meditation can control the life force functions of heart and breath. They remain in constant ecstasy of God consciousness during their earthly sojourn.  After physical death their conscious remain unbroken during their stay in astral world. They bore the testimony of their after death state in astral field.

Souls live in the various atmospheres and vibratory regions of the astral universe according to their karma on earth. Tramp souls cry out for relief in ether. These ghosts or tramp souls engage in many strange antics.  But they cannot do anything to intelligent and strong willed persons. That is why one should not make his mind blank or or negative.  

Yajante saatwikaa devaan yaksha rakshaami raajasaah

Pretaan bhootaganaam schaanye yajante taamasaa janaah 4  (Gita 17—4)

The saattwik people worship Devas, Rajoguna people worship Yakshas and Raakshasaas, and Taamasa guna people worship Bhootaas and Pretas.

The tramp souls or devilish souls cannot come near to advanced souls. The spiritually advanced souls can invoke and communicate with saintly people by using proper meditation methods or practices. They must learn these from a proper Guru. Divine saints cannot appear through mediums or séances. They appear to advanced devotees when invited with deep urge and devotion. They can see with open eyes the materialized forms of the saints and can talk or touch them. The advanced disciples of Jesus could touch Jesus Christ in flesh after his resurrection.

A person is possessed by a tramp or unclean devil. There is a person  acting under hypnotic spell or the obsession of subconscious idea.  There is a glaring difference between them. The hypnotic person maybe made to act noble or devilish way. Real possession means it has left its physical body and is in its astral form. Then its original physical body no more acts. Its possessed body only acts. For example A is possessed by B. Then A will lose his original quality or his rational faculty will be incapacitated. It will act exactly like B. The acting may be partial, or complete.       

Jesus with his Christ consciousness knew very well as what is within the body of a bedeviled man. The unclean spirit with its intuition in its astral body could feel the power of Jesus. Astral-bodied souls perceive through the sixth sense of intuition. They use them for the functions of vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. These wicked spirits keeps the mind of a possessed man in a state of suspension, neutrality, sub-hypnosis of obsession, so that its victim’s instruments of consciousness—senses, brain, and body—could be used without interference. A possessed man/woman may or may not be unconsciousness. In case of hypnosis person, he may manifest unconscious sleep or superficially normal state of the obsessed conscious mind.  The unclean spirit saw Jesus through possessed man.  It has used possessed man’s voice and spoke loudly and said:  “Let us alone; do not deny us our freedom of expression, be it good or evil.”   The possessive spirit itself obsessed with satanic evil. The satan in him recognized Jesus.  So it said: “I know thee….the Holy one of God.”   Astral beings are subservient to Christ Consciousness and He is the Lord of Creation.

Unclean devil or disembodied soul can wreck the mind, body, and senses if continues to stay for a long. It will make possessed man lunatic. Hence Jesus spoke: “Hold thy peace and come out of him.”    That is stop the devilish work and not wreck possessed brain. With strong concentration and diuvinw will power we can dislodge an evil spirit.  You chant ohm repeatedly in the possessed man’s right ear.  The evil spirit will flee from the body.  Some people chant the Holy names viz. ram, Krishna, Babaji, and Christ etc.  But chanting ohm  ohm  ohm  is supreme. The devil will flee quickly, and while fleeing from the possessed body with a reply: “I am fleeing, don’t utter that holy name or word.”    The devil fought violently against the vibrations of Jesus’ chanting ohm, came out of the body. The body became limp and shaken but not hurt as it cannot hurt the man due the intervention of Jesus Christ. Beholding the scene they beheld him in awe. Good an evil fight with each other for supremacy, one to save us, and the other to destroy us. We are caught in the war of God and ‘fallen archangel Satan. 

Each man will have opposite qualities within himself – Good by God and evil by Satan, love by God—hate by Satan, and kindness by God – selfishness by Satan etc.

Whenever a person violates physically, mentally, and spiritually. A portal is opened for disease (s).  Satan directs the disease germs at an opportune time. Jesus could visualize the evil force responsible for fever into the body of Simon’s mother-in-law.  He rebuked the evil and drove away from the body and made her all right.   Satan in man constantly directs him to do wrong. That appeal to his prenatal karmic tendencies and present habits.   One should not succumb to his evil Satanic tendencies like anger, greed, and fear etc. due to influence of prenatal and postnatal tendencies of temptation and satanic entities residing in the brain. Man may be addited to light or darkness as per his created habits. Likewise one can have his spiritual eye opened and hence can visualize God and His goodness everywhere.  The second one can have his spiritual eye closed and hence he beholds Satan and his wickedness everywhere. 

To free the consciousness from the influence of Satan’s devils is essential. Swami  Sri Yukteswar was able to cast out devils from the obsessed.  He could heal incurable sickness.  He used to live simply and preach nobly. Do not oscillate between good and evil and don’t be a prisoner to Maya. Escape into Spirit where Satan and his horde cannot reach you.
