Bible Discourse 17 The woman of Samaria

Discourse 17
The woman of Samaria
Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there.  Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw a water : Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink”  (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, “How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?”   for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
Jesus answered and said unto her, “If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that sat to thee, ‘Give me to drink’; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.”
The woman saith unto him, “Sir thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?  Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank there of himself, and his children, and his cattle?”
Jesus answered and said unto her, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
The woman saith unto him, “Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.”
Jesus saith unto her, “Go, call thy husband, and come hither.”
The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.”
Jesus said unto her, “Thou hast well said, “I have no husband’: for thou hast five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.”
The woman saith unto him, “Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.”
--John 4:5—19

--John 4:5—10
Jesus met the woman of Samaria. It is not chance meeting. It is a Guru-disciple reunion. Jesus wanted to redeem their meeting past birth.  Jesus had many followers in the past. The 12 main disciples belong to the inner circle. Jesus could recognize the disciples who were continuing for the first time compared to the others who were continuing for the past several incarnations. Even some of the disciples who were pursuing him for the past several incarnations may not be perfect like Judas who betrayed him.  Whatever may be their advancement once a disciple accepts a particular person as their Guru,  he continues to be a disciple.
The woman of Samaria was a disciple in the past incarnation. Jesus planned meeting with this woman during his trip from Judea to Galilee. Hence he purposefully planned meeting this woman waiting at Jacob’s well where he could meet her.  Samaritans were shunned as ‘low-caste’ by Jews. Jews shunned the evils of prejudice and caste consciousness.
Sychar (or Shechem), where Jesus’ encounter with the woman of Samaria took place was located about 25 miles north of Jerusalem, at the foot of Mt.Gerizim.  Samaria, the district between Judea and Galilee, was a people of mixed ancestry. Centuries earlier, when Palestine was conquered by the Assyrians, the Jewish population of that area intermixed with foreigners who were sent to colonize the land, and who adopted some of the Jewish religious beliefs. The Samaritans were the descendents of this cultural medley. Being of mixed race, they were viewed with contempt by most full-blooded Jews.
Christ did not have any differences of caste, creed, race, or social position. He sees only Divine will amongst the people.
In Vedic India castes were made in accordance with the rising of Kundalinee. People who do not do meditation at all are known as Sudras or unskilled labor. They belong to fourth caste or class. Their kundalinee will be always in sleeping mode.  If the nature is of soldiers and rulers then their Kundalinee in Mooladhara is awakened.  Those who are inclined to do business or agriculture then their kundalinee in Swadhistana chakra is awakened. Their caste is known as Vaishya. Those whose inmate qualities made them fit to be teachers then their Kundalinee in Manipura is awakened. Their caste is known as low class Brahmins. Those who are higher echelon teachers then their Kundalinee in Anaahata chakra is awakened. They are known as Brahmins. If the chakras in Vishuddha and Agna chakra are awakened then their caste or class is known as  super echelon teachers. They are known as Brahmans or Gurus. That is reason in Lalita sahasranamamulu scripture there is a verse in which it was mentioned kula kunadinaaya namaha OM.
Jesus wanted to renew his acquaintance with her so that she can ascend spiritually even though she thought that Jesus would shun her as a racial outcast. That is why Jesus said, “ If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee,” . By this Jesus was hinting her that God has blessed her.
“O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters’ (Jeremiah 17:13)
“out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”  Discourse 50.
--John 4:11—15
Jesus referred to ‘living water’.  The woman of Samaria did not understand.  So she said, ‘Sir thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?’  The ‘living water’ is the divine bliss within the soul. The waters of mortal existence and desires are ever thirsty. The waters of eternal bliss within us shall quench the thirst of every one. Mortal desires shall give us sorrow instead of happiness. The physical sense pleasures have beginning and end. They are ephemeral. No sage seeks happiness from them. The well of Divine bliss waters within the soul are effervescent. This is what Jesus wanted to convey to the woman at the well.
--John 4:15—19
The woman of Samaria had no legal husband.  Jesus was pleased with her truthfulness. Jesus knew her illicit relationships of having five husbands.  The woman did not lie and Jesus liked this. Insincerity, prevarication or misleading, and treachery toward a Guru-preceptor are devastating sins. From a mind that has been stilled, he can perceive the thoughts of others.  ‘Sincere cooperation with one’s Guru can save even the worst sinner.
1)   Subdue your mind for any desired length of time.  Then he can photograph any thought that is present in the conscious mind of another person.
2)   With great mental power one can know the sub-conscious thought experiences of others. You must consciously project your subconscious mind into the subconscious mind of another person.
3)   This is the most advanced way. With deep concentration and meditation you must open your third eye.  With this all seeing eye of intuition transfer your consciousness into super consciousness mind.  This super consciousness is beyond logic.  This is behind subconscious and conscious life.  This is God-given intuition. This can be learnt by step-by-step method of scientific deepest meditation which is called kriya yoga. This leads to self realization.
The woman of Samaria was spiritually awakened and as such she has understood that she was in the presence of a prophet of God.
