Sree Krishnaashtami

4.Sree Krishnaashtami

Sree Krishnaashtami, is celebrated on Varsharutu, Shraavanamaas, Bahulapaksh, and on Ashtami thithi. It is the birth day of Paramaatma Shree Krishna, and therefore it is celebrated as Sree Krishnaashtami, Janmaashtami, or Gokulaashtami.

Devaki Mata is the mother of Sree Krishna. Devaki Mata is the replica of body. Vasudeva is the father of Sri Krishna. Vasudeva is the replica of life force. When there is a growth of life force in the body then the birth of Ananda i.e. Shree Krishna is born.

Kamsa is the brother of Devaki and is the maternal uncle of Krishna.  Kamsa is a replica of ego. Ego always tries to eradicate the happiness. When man is born with physical body he will have Ego simultaneously. The body born with Happiness, and joy shall not cause any harm to others. The body which is deficient with happiness and joy only shall intend to cause harm. The love, and simplicity(Krishna) shall always be victorious over ego(Kamsa).

When ego is predominant this body resembles a jail. Shri Krishna is born to Devaki in the jail. Then the watchmen will be in deep slumber. That means the advent of love, and simplicity(Krishna) shall make the senses to sleep/inactive. The active senses represent ego.

Pure wisdom is the replica of Butter.  Butter is the replica of health and nourishment. Krishna steals that butter i.e., pure wisdom. Krishna is the wisdom personified. As such he is desire less, and uninterested in the objects of the senses.

The peacock eyed feather is the replica of third eye/Shri Krishna consciousness.

Dead body or Savam in Sanskrit will not have any thoughts. The body which breaths in and breaths out life force is auspicious or sacred. That body is called Shivam in Sanskrit.  This body will have thoughts. These thoughts are not known to anybody other than him. These thoughts are called Gopyam in Sanskrit as such they are called Gopikas.  There will/must  be Shri Krishna consciousness behind each and every thought i.e., Gopika. They are approximately sixteen thousands. This no body has counted and no body can count also. Its real meaning is several. This is the meaning of Krishna having sixteen thousands Gopikas.

Each and every human being bound to have joy and happiness. Janmashtami is meant for this. Kriyayoga helps us to be like this.
