Kanakadhara Stotram - by Sri Adi Shankaracharya

Kanakadhara Stotram -  by Sri Adi Shankaracharya
KanakaDhara ----- Jagadguru Sri Adi Sankaraachaarya
Kanakadhaara means Golden flow of energy. The whole Universe (s) came out of that Golden flow of energy.  This golden energy is the basis of this Universe(s). if you chant DHARA DHARADHARADHARA then you will hear RADHA.  Raa (Viswa)  Dhaaa (aadhaara shakti). That means the root cause of this is this Golden flow of energy only. This flow is called Prakash, Illumination, effulgence, or Consciousness etc. this energy flow is also called Maaya. Maa = not   yaa=real. Maayaa means not real.  This Maayaa exists in each and every individual. This individualized Maya is called Kundalinee.   Paramaatma Consciousness can be called Potential energy in Modern Science. There are no equivalent words to Sanskrit in English. In a way it can be called Male energy. Maya can be called Female energy. Potential energy is stable energy. Kinetic energy comprises of vibrations.  Brahmaanda chaithanyam is called Cosmic consciousness.  The power station may be generating thousands of volts of energy. We step it down with transformers to lower levels for domestic utility. We carry water from the river through big water pipes. Then we pump thousands of gallons in the reservoir. From there we bring it down with small volume tubular pipes for domestic consumption. Likewise the cosmic consciousness is stepped down to Krishna consciousness for human individual consciousness. The Cosmic consciousness is called Macro cosmic consciousness. The individualized Cosmic consciousness is called Macro cosmic consciousness.
Consciousness = Electron + intelligence.
If consciousness exists in negligible quantity then it is known as Inert body.
Kundalinee power is a five hooded snake lying dormant in the anus curling with 3½ turns  near Mooladhara chakra. Kundalinee is a passage of energy.

The individual who does not meditate shall not trust in God. He does not trust the existence of Parabrahman. The so called Modern science will not make him to believe. His IQ is also poor. Even if he does industry, but he cannot harness intelligence and intuition.  The Yogi on the other hand shall possess higher IQ factor. Soonest the individual starts meditating Kriya yoga techniques his IQ and intuition will start increasing by degrees.

Karma is of three types, Past, Present, and future karma(s).  past karma is Sanchita karma, Present  karma is Prarabdha karma, and Future karma is Aagaami karma.  Man/woman shall get the rewards  in this life according to his/her past  karma(s). whatever he/she is enjoying/suffering in this life is the result of his/her past karma(s).  Individual brings his past karma in the form of Prarabdha karma inthis existing birth. As such what we are enjoying/suffering in this life is the result of his/her past karma(s).  This present day enjoying/suffering is not the result of karma during this present birth. That happens only when Karma that is to be experienced of the past. The present (Prarabdha) karma will be accrued to the sanchita (Past) karma as aagaami (Future) karma. This itself will be converted to Sanchita karma. But with the guidance of Sadguru preceptor, his present karma can also be avoided.

The vibrations that can explode are called Mantrams. Because of these vibrations, the changes occur in the air zone. From that Devata shakthi (unseen energy), subtle energy shall emanates. Such energy produces sound or bound by sound.  That Sound is having three things. They are Conception (Bhaavam), letter/word (Padam), and sound (Swaram).
Sounds or Octaves are of seven dimensional. They are:  Sa (Shadjam), Ri (Rishabham), Ga (Gaandhaaram), Ma (Madhyamam), Pa (Panchamam), Da (Daivatham), and Ni (Nishaadam).  That is why it leads to explosive vibration (Sphotana).  That is what the Great people say: “Chant Mantra, and behold or make that Rishi (Sage) appear before you. When we do the three things i.e., Sravanam (to hear), Mananam (chant), and Nidhidhyaas (Meditate), then the concept of that sage (Rishi) will be made known.  As such we should hear, chant, and then meditate on that Mantra so as to get the concept of that saint (Rishi).
The satisfied Devata shall award us with Ugra kala, Bhoga kala, and Saanta kala.
Ugra kala = protection, Bhoga kala = wealth, and saanta kala = peace.

Angeekrutha akhila vibhoothirapaangaleelaa
Maangalyadaasthu mama mangaladevathaayaah     1

Angeekrutha akhila vibhoothihi—Divine Mother has owned several diffeent wealths. Normally looks of man is compared to  beetle and female is compared to flower.  Here the looks of Mother Goddess is compared to beetle.  That means kinetic energy (Amma) always depends on Potential energy(Parabrahman).

There is a highly respected and regarded Jyotirlingam temple in Sri Sailam (Andhra Pradesh, India). Here the benign looks of Amma (Goddess Bhramarambika) are turned towards Parabrahman (Srishaila Mallikharjuna Swami).

Apaangam means looks from the corner of the eyes. Leela means the work being done easily by Amma without any attachment.  Man also does his daily house hold work but he does it with attachment that too with effort. This is called Karma. In Leela attachment is not there but in Karma it is there. Leela is desireless desire.

Parameswar or Parameswari has closed His/Her means He/She has stopped creation. If He/She opens eyes means the Creation is being done without any attachment to the least. Opening of eyes indicate the internal consciousness is expressed outwardly.

Amma is also called aamnaayaakshi. That means the criptures (Vedas) are encrypted in Her eyes.  Since scriptures are to be memorized and chanted repeatedly they are called Aamnaayamu. Kaamakshi, Meenaakshi, and Vishaalaakshi are the other names of Divine Mother.

Wealth means not money, but the love of Narayana towards His devotee.  As such the devotee must make an endeavour to get the love of Naraayana. Then the devotee gets the wealth.

Scriptures narrates how the Creation came into existence.
Vedam starts with ‘Sa ayikshathaa prajaayeyethi’. That means parabrahman has visualized.  Man also Opens his eyes to start the work with attachment.
The Mother Parameswari who has opened Her eyes may does good fortune tome. Theopening of eyes is called EEkshana shakti.  This universe comprises compressions and rarefactions. This whole word has come out of vibrations only. They are akin to Potential energy and Kinetic energy. If the Mother closes Her eyes it is deluge, if she opens Her eyes it is Creation. Adisankara has taken the fruit of this Kanakadhara Stotram by himself. The he in turn handed over that fruit to the Old poverty ridden lady.
Angam hareh means the body of Sri Hari. Varnaanaam aadibeejam . “a” is the starting Akshar in Maatrukaanyaasam of Srividya.  Maatrukaa varna roopinee. Srividya is  called Maatrukaavidya.  All letters pertains to the forms of Amma starting with letter “a” and ending with  “ha” letter. As such the whole world is impregnated with ‘Aham’ meaning “aham” or ego.  Each and every letter is Her beholding power only. Each and every letter, every work, and each form is/are bound by letters.    aksharaanaam ‘a’kaarosthi said Srikrishna in Gita.
Sri Mahavishnu lying stable like a Black Tamala tree. Mother is beholding Vishnu with depending looks on Him. That means Sri Mahavishnu is potential energy. Sri Mahalakshmi is kinetic energy.  The looks of Mother is like a Female bee or beetle and is kinetic energy. Like a female bee Her looks are revolving around Narayana.  “Madhuraadhipathe akhilam Madhuram”.  Everything of That God the Father is sweet.
Adorned with flower buds as jewels that Narayan is resembling Black Tamala tree.  His excited or thrilled looks are the flower buds and are His jewels.
*** Mother Mahalakshmi is looking at Vishnu making/owning all sort (s) of wealth as Hers. Ordinarily male looks are compared to bees. Female looks are compared to flowers. In case of Sri Saila Mallikarjuna and Bhrambika, the looks of Mother are always turned towards God Siva or Mallikarjuna.
Leela means the work that is done/being done by God/Goddess very easily and that too without any entanglement/ involvement/ attachment.  In case of humans, it is called Karma because it is being done withy attachment.

When Parabrahman/Parameshwari closes His/Her eyes Creation stops or the Consciousness is interiorized. If He/She opens His/Her eyes then the Creation starts or the Consciousness is exteriorized.
Vedas are encrypted in the eyes of Mother. They are to be recited again and again and as such they are called AAmnaayam. Kaamaakshi, Meenaakshi, and Visaalakshi are some other names to the Mother. Akshi means eye. The name like Kaamaakshi, Meenaakshi, and Visaalakshi changes as per the context. And all names pertain to Divine Mother only.
The gaining of love of Parabrahman is the real wealth. To win the love of Parabrahman, one has to do Kriyayoga dhyana or Kriyayoga meditation.  One has to enjoy the wealth for the love and affection of Parabrahman only.

Vedas narrate as to how Creation is/being done.

Mugdhaa muhurvidadhathee vadane murareh
Prematrapaapranihithaani gathaagathaani
Maalaadrusomadhukareeva mahotpale yaa
Saa me sriyam disathu saagara sambhavaayaah       2

To describe Mother and Father together is called Samayaachaaram.  Here this has continued up to nine slokas or verses. The compatability of Siva and Shakti, or Lakshmi Narayana, is known as Saamarasyam.  Soundarya lahari another Ggreat rendition by Adisankaraachaarya was started with Siva shaktyaayuktaha. That means it has started with the worshipping of Siva.
The garland of looks of Amma, the divine Mother, that has adorned Lord Vishnu, may bestow magnanimity upon me the devotee.   The looks of Amma are in essence Kinetic energy and that of Parabrahman of Parabrahman.  The moving energy is called Kinetic energy. The stable energy of Parabrahmana is called Potential energy.  Kinetic energy cannot work in the absence of  Potential energy.  The quality of wealth is love on God Vishnu. We have to enjoy wealth only for the love of God.  We should receive the things given by God as His magnanimous boon. Light, air, water, basic realms of life, and others, everything comes to us with His permission.  As such we must offer everything to God before eating. That is the reason we say, ‘Sarvam Sri Narayanaarpanamasthu’ , before we start food.

Amma the divine Mother is emanated from sea. That Mother may provide wealth to me.

Murareh vadane Mala drushoh means the incessant series of Divine Mother’s looks on Vishnu, may become auspicious to me. Mugdha muhurvidadhathi means those unending looks of Hers on Vihnu are graceful to me.

Wealth is of different types.  They are: word, money, health, valour, and education etc. These are gathaagathaani means they come and go.  Mahotpale means she is like a lotus in water without any attachment.
Maalaadruso madhukareeva Prematrapaa pranihithaani gathaagathaani  means  the incessant love starved looks of  Divine Mother shall always be on God the Father and they come and go. Likewise the bondage between devotee and Parabrahman should be unbreakable. As such the looks of devotee should be always on God theFather.
***
Summary:
The benign looks that have excited and thrilled God the Father. That God who is adorned with Amma’s series of looks’ garland may become graceful to me. Divine Mother may impart growth to my wealth.   Her innocent looks on Parabrahman may be kind to me.
Wealth is of several types. They are servants, servitude, off spring, jewellery, friends, relatives, money, and grains..  They come and go.
She is like a lotus in water.  In spite of  being water, Lotus does not get rotten. Likewise Mother in spite of being in Creation, she is unattached to this Creation.  She is Brahmavidya swaroopinee i.e the Pure knowledge personified. The bondage between devotee and God the Father should be unbroken.  ****

Sky (aakash) is having hearing power, air (Vayu) is having touch power, fire (agni) is having seing power, Water (Jalam) is having taste power, and Earth (prithvee) is having smell power. These powers are called Dhanam or wealth. The rewarding Goddess of these powers is called Dhana Lakshmi.  Dhanamagnih, dhanam vaayuh, dhanam sooryo dhanam vasuh is Veda mantra. The cause of fulfilment is known as Dhanam. Because of these things we will be successful and are being successful.  The sides are having a power (Dikpaalakashakti), Planets are having a power (Graha Aadhipatya shakti), the power of Indra (Indrassu). This Dhanalakshmi is the root cause of all these powers.

Aanandakandam animesham anangatantram means the half closed eyes of MahaVishnu who is in Yoganidra, and is in blissful state within Himself,  is captured by Mother. Muktim prasaadayathi ithi Mukund i.e., He liberates the devotees from this Sansaar and as such He is called Mukunda. Here Mother Goddess is called Mokshalakshmi.

According to Sanatana Vaideeka sampradaaya, there are six types of Lakshmis. They are: Siddha lakshmi, Moksha lakshmi, Jaya  lakshmi, Jaya lakshmi, Saraswati, Sri lakshmi, and Vara lakshmi.

When we start a work it should end well. For that grace of Siddha lakshmi is required. When work is finished we should get relief or rest for a while.  For that grace of Moksha lakshmi is required. After that we should get success of that work. For that grace of Jayalakshmi is required. For starting a work we should have intelligence. For that grace of Saraswati is required.  After this one should get interest in doing that work.  For that grace of Srilakshmi is required. After that one should get recognition and speciality of doing that work.  For that grace of Varakshmi is required. These Lakshmis are depending upon one another.  We should ask for all these together so as to get fulfilment.

Mother divine is the first and foremost devotee of Lord Vishnu.
Ananda kandam means she is root cause of happiness. Animesham means eyes without a blink even. Anangatantram means the looks besmeared with the looks of Manmatha, love God. Mother is having a Kriyayoga technique (s) look.  Siva swaadheenavallabha means if mind is studied continuously it will come under control.
Here the devotee is desirous of the unending kind look of Mother on him. Her look itself is on Parabrahman eternally.
The programmes in Computer are independent. But they are routed through Central Processing Unit. Likewise looks of Divine Mother always routed through God the Father.
Mere chanting of Kanakadhara stotram does not rain golden Amlas. Kanakadhara is nothing but Vedantic or spiritual.  That is why it is written by a sage of highest ability, Adishankaracharya.
Ananga means Manmatha, love God. He did not have any physical body.  The one which is beyond boundaries of physical body of love and lust is Anangatantram.

Aatmavidyaa mahavidya, srividya kaamasevitah means self knowledge is Divine and pure wisdom, and Srividya is to be served without any desire.  Man with desire only understands Nishkaamam or desire less desire. Mother Divine fully understands when to bind the devotee with desires, and when to liberate the devotee from the bondage. A learned man with ability only is to be given the deserving job failing which society in particular and Nation at large shall be ruined.

She is the all pervading Vishnu’s wife. Namaskaram to you.

Sampathkaraani sakalendriya nandanaani:-- Amma, by honouring you with Namaskaram(salutation), my senses will be filled with happiness.  Na mama aakaara namaskaraa,  No form is mine, everything is yours, that is Namaskara. One should have this concept  and should express it through mind, word, and action. This is called Trikarana shuddhi concept.  Gladdened with this humility Mother will provide me with kingdom of three worlds.  She removes all my difficulties. Let such benign look of Mother Divine be with me in all times.

Amma is the in dweller of lotus.  Her hands are like tender lotus  stems. She is dressed in milky white.  Milky white indicates purity. She emanates good sandalwood fragrance.  With your sacred and auspicious odour Oh Divine Mother, show your grace on me.
