Discourse 41
Jesus’ Counsel to Ministers of God’s Word    (Part ll)
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.  But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; and ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.  For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
“And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
“But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.  The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.  If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
“Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.  What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
“He that receiveth  you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me  receiveth Him that sent me.  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
“And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of  a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
                                                                   Matthew 10:16—ll.1
And they went out, and preached that men should repent.  And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them…..
And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.  And he said unto them, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while”: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
                                                                   Mark 6:12—13, 30—31
“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me dispiseth Him that sent me.”
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, “Lord, even the devils are subject  unto us through thy name.”
And he said unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  Behold, I give you unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, “I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good tn Thy sight.
“All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.”
And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.”
                                                                              Luke 10:16—24

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
                                                                           Matthew 11:28—30
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.                                     Matthew 10:16
Parallel reference:
“Go your ways: behold, I send you forthas lambs among wolves.         Luke 10:3

Wherever you go, my consciousness must be manifest in you. Be humble, inoffensive, and unrevengeful like meek lambs among hungry wolves. You will be among people with Satanic sense temptations that are present everywhere.  The wisdom and peace given by awakening of kundalini and the spiritual eye is what he means by be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.   He used these words metaphorically in an esoteric sense.
“I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.”   John 1:32
Jesus was aware of the awakening of Kundalini divine life energy of his advanced devotees whom he has taught meditation.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breast plate of righteousness and your feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”.                                            Ephesians 6:14--17
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”.                           Ll Corinthians 10:4--5

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; and ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.      Matthew 10:17—18

Jesus foretold his disciples: you will be ill treated at the hands of uncomprehending men. You will be brought before the judges and be whipped in synagogues for preaching the gospel of divine freedom. You shall be taken to task before the Governors and kings because of me. The Gentiles and political forces oppose you.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.  For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.       Matthew 10:19—20

Parallel reference:

“But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do they premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.”          Mark13:11

“And when they bring you into the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say, for the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.”   Luke 12:11--12

“Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what shall ye answer: for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay not resist.”                                                      Luke 21:14—15

*What is KARMA*
Karma is a "cliche" and most important aspect of life, yet ironically most misunderstood as well.

Karma is the sum total of PAST actions influencing the present.   Karma is also actions in the PRESENT

That leads to the question of FATE (past) vs FREE WILL (present).

Classical  Darshanas (six of them) and Puranas of Sanathan-Dharma clarifies and summaries "KARMA" beautifully.

The truth is Fate and Free Will are like two Mountain Goats in a RUT. The battle ON, whichever is stronger, Wins the Battle.

FATE is past can not be changed and fixed, but a human has all the POWER to ACT (free will), to manifest and rise to full potential..!

Rising to full potential is... to experience the noblest visions of the self, including Peace, Bliss and JOY. This does not include Worldly Illusory Material and Infinite other DESIRES of the Mind, as they work against True Happiness..! The ultimate experience, all humans are seeking can be found only.... in the spiritual dimension, not in the physical or mental dimensions.

As the legend has it... The King Viswamithra tries to defeat his GURU Bramharshi Vasita,  gets defeated time and again even after thousands of years of  ardent and severe penance or  Tapasya.   Ultimately, he realises that there is nothing to left to defeat Vasista.  He realisesmhis Guru Vasista and Paramatma are ONE. He realises the UNITY “ Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma “ and becomes Bhamharshi Vishwamithra.

He is also the author of  "Gayatri Maha Mantra" part of 3rd mandala of Rig Veda.

Any mantra, which is initiated by a competent Guru, and practised with Shraddha i.e. dedication will make anyone rise beyond FATE (karma). Of course, Upasana  i.e. following the mantra should be complemented with Sat Karma (good action)

Jesus tells advanced devotees: Be guided not by ego but by intuitive directions from God-contact.  “When they arrest you, do not use human logic, but let God speak through your intuition.  Souls who are in tune with “the Spirit of your Father, Cosmic Consciousness vibrating through the Holy Ghost, are guided by higher wisdom and all seeing intelligence. God has no senses and no reason. He is the Knower, the process of Knowing, and Wisdom to be Know.  Gnaata, Gneyam, and the Gnaanam.   Jesus assures his disciples: “’ I will give you a mouth and wisdom—you will feel my spirit of Christ Consciousness with you, manifesting in ‘the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost...he shall teach you all things.’”.  .

“And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.                                                       Matthew 10:21—22

Parallel reference”
“And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.  And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish.  In your patience possess ye your souls.”                                           Luke 21:16—19
Jesus prophesied: “Satan will create mischief. One unspiritual brother rise up against the spiritual brother and unspiritual father persecute the spiritual child.   Overcome the trials and persecutions till the end of life. You shall be permanently saved from the desire bound trialsome incarnations.”
“But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.   Matthew 10:23
Jesus said: Do not waste time preaching the God’s message in cities  which are  not attentive, then go to another city. Verily, I prophesy you that the your preaching of work and message through my body will be finished and fully known throughout the world.
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.  It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.  If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?                                                                Matthew 10: 24—25
Jesus emphasizes that the persecution of his disciples would be more offensive as much as he himself would not endure. “Beloved ones, the materially minded people and Pharisees have called Jesus himself as “Beelzebub”, the prince of Devils.”
“Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.  What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.   Matthew 10:26—27

Jesus asks his disciples to spread two kinds of Messages: 1) the hidden higher teachings to the selected spiritually refined people, 2) the general teachings for the public at large.  Jesus said: “O ye my beloved ones, Fear not your critics, serve the true seekers. Be meek and humble.”

Matthew 10:28--31
Parallel reference:
“And I say unto you, my friends, be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more than they can do.  But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear.  Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; I say unto you, fear Him.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”            Luke 12:4—7

Jesus said: Fear your wicked actions. You yourself create after-death hell by burning your conscience.  That will affect your inner and outer health conditions.   Fear not, therefore, even if you have to sacrifice your body.  God does not fail to direct the destiny of insignificant sparrows—‘one of them shall not fall on the ground without your father. So How much God takes care of the devotees who are self-sacrificing, even martyred, for the sake of truth. God is conscious of all things throughout the present, past, and future, even of every hair on your head.

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.                       Matthew 10:32—33

Parallel reference:

“Also I say unto you, whosoever shall  confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God.
But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
                                                                                                  Luke 12:8—9
A person with little faith and devotion should not deviate or desist from living Christ because of timidity before materially minded people. Then he will not be able to go higher into God-the Father state of Cosmic Consciousness after death.

Matthew 10:34—39

Jesus speaks to his disciples about two things. 1) The divisive conditions that come with his spiritual reformation, 2) the inevitable obstacles to those people who wanted tread the path to God.
People who tread the path of God will have two edged sword that has sharp wisdom edge on one side, and self-control sharpness on other side to fight unspiritual temptations and Maya influences.
The eternal truth that I preach will affect in accordance with your karma. Parents you get according to karma. You should at no times forgets your Heavenly Parent.  Jesus does not mean that his teachings shall not bring family happiness. He wanted people to understand the reality.
Jesus was unequivocal, on another occasion, he said,
“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”                                Luke 14:26
He does not mean literally that devotees should hate their parents etc.
He pointed elsewhere: “Who is my mother, and who are my brethren?..Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven.” (Matthew 12:48).
And also,
“Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on…But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”   Matthew 6:25, 33
Jesus says: No one can perform his duties to his parents, spouse, or other relatives, or to his own body and life. Everything comes from God alone.  Gita says:
Sarva dharmaan parityajya maamekam saranam vraja
Aham twaam sarva paapebhyo Mokshayishyaami maasuchah                     Gita 18--66

Forsaking all other duties or Dharmas, take shelter in Me only. I will liberate you from all your sins.
The sadhak or devotee should give up all the duties of senses and surrender to God fully.  Then all the problems of Sanchita (past), Prarabdha (present), and Aagami (Future) karmas will be annihilated.

“He that taketh not his cross and followeth after me”—who fights not temptations withself-discipline and in meditation uplifts his mindfrom the plane of senses to enter the star door in the spiritual eye that leads to Christ Consciousne4ss—is not worthy of me,” of my divine Christ-kingdom.
“He that findeth his life”—puts material happiness as the goal of hislife—“shall lose it”.  “He that loseth his life for my sake”—sacrifices his desires for material pleasures to purify his consciousness for Christ Consciousness in meditation—“shall find” the everlasting happiness.
“He that receiveth  you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me  receiveth Him that sent me.  He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
“And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of  a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”                                                            Matthew 10:40—42
“He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth Him that sent me.         Luke 10:16

And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
                                                                   Matthew 10:16—ll.1
