Bible Discourse 7 The Baptism of John
Discourse 7
The Baptism of John
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway
out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the
spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from
heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” --Mathew 3:16—17
Dove is the replica of Spiritual eye. Jesus the Spirit descending from Heaven.
The third eye of Jesus was awakened. Jesus could see the mergence of his
microcosmic consciousness with Macrocosmic consciousness of Spirit. Christ
Consciousness, and Cosmic Energy.
The role of Satan in God’s Creation.
Satan originated as the natural consequence of God’s
desireless desire to divide His Sea of Oneness into waves of finite creation…
the Adversarial Force maintains its realm of influence by the gross obscuration
of the true God-nature of all created beings.
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from
Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted
of the devil…And Jesus answered and said unto, him, “Get thee behind me,
Satan.”
Luke 4:1—2, 8
Jesus became
Christ when his consciousness is personified with Christ/Krishna Consciousness.
“Are not two sparrows sold for farthing? and one of
them shall not fall on the ground without your father.” (Mathews 10:29)
Christ omnipresent intelligent vibration is in Holy
Ghost. Because of this Jesus could know and foretell the things telepathically.
In highly elevated state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi, the sadhak or yogi will be in
contact with God, but he may be normal duties with physical and astral bodies.
In Savikalpa Samadhi the yogi will be in contact with God when he is in meditative
Samadhi. In Maha Samadhi the yogi will be in the spiritual transcendence will
be in complete union with God the Father. That is his body, Holy Ghost or Aum
or Cosmic vibratory intelligence, Krishna/Christ Consciousness or Son of the
Father or Tat, and God the Father or Sat perceived as one with the Spirit. That
is the meditating sadhak has conquered the metaphysical and psychological tests
of Satan or Maya.
The origin of evil is subjective, arising from
psychological factors, from the thoughts and actions of man himself. The sufferings result from man’s erroneous
choices and actions—his lack of harmony with universal laws. God is pure
consciousness personified. Man initially uses his free choice do whatever
likes. After maturity he utilizes his
Buddhi or intellect to take action justifiably.
It may be argued that a perfect Christ would
acknowledge the existence of Satan and the tempting power of Satan. Once you
have accepted the body, you have
tacitly accepted the existence of the duality of the world i.e., good and bad
both. But with wisdom one will discard bad and accepts only good. The evil is subjective nature of man’s
thoughts and actions. Man may have to depend upon the free choice and the reasoning power given to him. Free choice does not mean whatever we wanted
to do we will do even if it is detrimental to others and unscientific.
Yogavatar Lahiri Mahasaya is the embodiment of Christ Consciousness. He could perceive the ongoing events
telepathically. So it was with
Jesus.
It is the Divine Mother who tries to protect each baby
through instinctive love of parents. The
Divine Mother is the aspect of God that is active in creation. This is called
Shakti as per sanatan Dharma. The cause of evil is more subjective than
objective. It is chiefly due to the ignorance.
Mind is enslaved and controlled due to habits that are cultivated in the
past. How the mind works is depend upon
the impregnation of good or bad habits in the past. A person may be good in the present but may
be doing bad work by virtue of the past.
Habits are called sanskar in Sanskrit. We can nullify the bad by
persistently doing good in spite of odds. In fact one may be getting good
results in spite of being bad. Two persons may have the same qualification or
one may be inferior to other in qualification, but the one with same or
inferior qualification will get a better job opportunity than the other. Hence one should inculcate good habits. The law of karma is very intricate. It
depends upon habits, good or bad. It is not like ten minus two is equal to
eight like simple arithmetic. If one has
done ten good habits and two bad habits. Then he will to enjoy the karma, good
or bad, proportionate to ten good habits as well as to two bad habits. One has
to rid of his karma, good or bad, both, to get liberated.
Spirit is beyond logic. Creation is limited and
subjected to cause and effect. It is
subjected to duality or Dwaita. The law of relativity is imperative to divide
one into many. Dualities of good and bad are inherent in Creation. Maya is naught. It is the modification of
God’s consciousness.
The Creation has come out of the delusion of God. It
is subjugated to God. The Creative Holy
Ghost Intelligence is known as Maha Prakriti. This power transcends from
Ishvara, God the Father of Creation. It
takes on dual nature. As Para Prakriti
or Pure Nature it creates and expresses all good and beauty in harmony with the
God immanent Kutastha Chaitanya or Christ Consciousness. Its magnificent divine nature is expressed in
the causal and astral heavenly realms. Evil in man’s life arises from his own
wrong doings and judgment. Some are born
with special tendencies of self-control and some with weak or no self control.
If God is impartial then why this disparity?
It is due to law of incarnation and karma.
Why evil has a place in God’s plan? Dualities of good and bad are inherent in
creation. In Christianity two aspects of Prakriti or Nature are referred
to. As per Sanatan Vaideeka Dharma there
are Para and Apara prakritees. Apara
prakritee is called Maya. They are known as Holy Ghost and Satan in
Christianity. The Holy Ghost in tune with Christ Consciousness creates goodness
and beauty and draws all manifestation toward a symbiotic harmony and an
ultimate oneness with God. Satan pulls
outward from God into entanglement with the delusive world of matter. Thus Satan is defined as an archangel fell
from heaven, a force fallen from the grace of attunement with the Holy Creative
Vibration of God.
Jesus said: ‘I beheld Satan as lightning fall from
heaven’. – Luke 10:18
The divine Cosmic Vibration with its Creative Light
became a divided force called para and Apara prakriti. The Satanic or apara prakriti or duality or
dwaita asserts its independence and turns from God. Jesus referred to this
Satanic Force as a devil, a murderer, and a liar.
‘The devil…..was a murderer from the beginning, and
abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his
own: for he is a liar, and the father of it’
--John 8:44
Satan originated as the natural consequence of God’s
desireless desire to divide His Sea of Oneness into finite creation—a power of
independent will that would wield the laws of material creation to manifest and
sustain its existence. The plan of Spirit was that this conscious Cosmic
Delusive Force should be endowed with independence in order to use maya and
avidya to create God-reflecting finite objects out of Holy Ghost cosmic
vibratory energy, in harmonious attunement with the divine Christ Intelligence
present there in.
The conflict in Creation is between God tuned Holy
Ghost with its immanent Christ intelligence and Satan.
Adam and Eve are the symbolic beings initially. They
have succumbed to temptations of Satan and hence their descendants were also
influenced by hereditary ignorance Genesis is deeply symbolic. It is not to be
understood literally. “Tree of life is human body. The spinal cord is like an
upturned tree. Man’s hair is its roots.
Afferent and efferent nerves are its branches. The tree of the nervous system bears many
enjoyable fruits. They are the sensations of sight, sound, smell, taste, and
touch. In these, man may rightfully indulge; but he was forbidden sex. This is
the apple of the body. It is in the
midst of the garden. The serpent represents the spinal energy. It is coiled up at the base. It stimulates the sex nerves. Adam is the
embodiment of reasoning. Eve is the embodiment of feeling.
God created the animal species through his will. They are lacking reasoning and are bound by instinct. Then he
created human species through his will. God made the first human bodies Adam
and Eve symbolically. For upward evolution He transferred the souls. Reason
predominated in Adam or man. Feeling
predominated in Eve or woman.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils, and the man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)
Now the serpent (sex force) was more subtle than any
beast of the field (any other sense of the body). (Genesis 3:1)
And the Lord planted a garden eastward in Eden; and
there He put the man whom He had formed.
(Genesis 2:8)
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden
of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. (Genesis 3:23)
The divine man first made by God had his consciousness
centered in the omnipotent single eye in the forehead (eastward). The all-creative powers of his will, focused at that spot were
lost to man when began to ‘till the ground’ of his physical nature.
The human body was the result of evolution from beasts
but also from special creation by God. Man was given the unique opportunity of
thousand petaled lotus in the brain and also awakened occult centers in the
spine.
The delusion of body
identification produces the false idea of death. Eden is symbolic of divine
consciousness. It was lost to the original Adam and Eve. As such Adam and Eve
were identified with the gross physical form and its limitations.
Adam and Eve could see
themselves encased in a triune body of consciousness, life force, and atomic
radiation.
Satan cannot work as a separate identity. Nothing can work independently barring the
Spirit or God the father. Everything
inclusive of Satan has to work within the jurisdiction of God the Father or sat.
Without sat or God the Father everything is an inert body.
Satan or anything else has
to be subjugated to God the Father. They are not independent authorities. In
computer any programme has to work subjected to Central Processing Unit. Satan entraps souls in the mortal labyrinth
of earthly incarnations or avatars. Man, the highest intellectual being is the
soul image of God. Man is made in the image of God. He forgot all his immortality. Greed or avariciousness made
him want more. He began to exercise his
free will in pursuit of a desire for temporal fulfilment. One desire lead or
leads to another and there is no end to it. Immortals became mortals. They fall
into the trap or labyrinth of cause and effect theory. This made the free souls into slave souls.
This has fitted the Satan’s cunningness. Mortal souls became subjugated and in
bondage to the karmic law of recurrence. They could not return to God as a
perfect soul with their Satanic desires.
They repeatedly return to earth through birth
and rebirth in flesh and blood. Birth
and rebirth has become a vicious circle.
Satan has cleverly used
forgetfulness. Satan could bound the slave souls to finite state. Pain and sorrow, pleasure and unhappiness,
jealousy, avarice, wavering mind, buddhi
or intellect, chittam or sphere of thinking, ego, one up man ship, were the
strategies of Satan. With the expiration of desires and Karma the soul will be
able to break their bondage and entanglement with Satan and shall return to God
the Father.
If one can feel and know
that he is the child of God, he can be free. This is what he has to acquire by
and by. After acquiring he could get liberated from the
clutches of Satan. Man’s place is in
between the conflict between God’s goodness and Satan’s temptations. God has
given freedom to Satan. Noah’s time much of the earth devastated by a flood as
described in Genesis.
God could annihilate and
subjugate Satan in an instant. But it is against His laws. God’s munificence is
expressed in His incarnate sons, divine saviours. His silent voice speaks audibly to man. Jesus
is an unique manifestation of God. He came to speak for God of His eternal
kingdom of Heaven.
Lay not up for yourselves
treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt. Mathews 6:19
Permanent happiness is
found only in God. This is the Message
of Jesus regarding love of God.
Possessing Christ
Consciousness one has to encounter the conflict between the perfect,
universally intelligent Holy Ghost Vibration manifesting Divine consciousness
and imperfect pull of Satan towards evil and finite creation.
Everyone has to face the
Evil. Confront it with the armaments of
wisdom to become victorious. Satan is subjective and objective both. Objective
Satan is destructive. He opposes Divinity.
Satan explains evil. It cannot be relegated solely to the individual or
subjective ignorance. God alone is Alpha and Omega in Cosmos. There is nothing
but Spirit, the only Substance—the ever existing, ever conscious, and ever new
bliss.
He was in the world, and
the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own. And his own received
him not.
St. John1:10—11
‘made’ means the Spirit by
the condensing power of will, materialized Itself by cosmic delusion into a
fabulous universe. Having manifested
Itself as Its own creation, that creation did not receive, did not reflect, its
true Spirit Essence. Spirit is perceived
as the only reality, the sole Eternal Substance, when one’s consciousness
enters the deep Samadhi experience of divine union with Spirit.
“Finally, my brethren, be
strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of
God, that may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
world…..” (Ephesians
6:10—12)
