Bhogi Samkranti Kanuma Mukkanuma with English commentary
Three linga kshetras viz., Shri kalahasti, ShreeSailam, and
Kotilingaalakshetram are very important kshetras or divine places in India. The
place in between three three linga kshetras or divine places is known as
Trilinga kshetram. Kshetram means place or field. The people who reside in this field is called TrilingaJaathi.
Gradually it transformed into TELUGU JAATHI. Since these people are spiritually
high as such they are called Andhra Jaathi. Their festivals are also spiritual
as such we need not wonder about it. Spirituality is known as Adhyatmikata. As
such these people are gradually known as Andhras. The names given to these Andhra festivals
are also given Spiritual names.
One Hamsa = One breath in, and one breath out.
Man can be divided into three
stages, they are:
Yogi, Bhogi, and Rogi.
Normally man takes 21600 Hamsas
in a day. This amounts to 15 hamasa in a minute.
Bhogi does 15 Hamsas in a
minute.
Rogi or patient does more than
15 Hamsas in a minute.
Yogi does less than 15 hamsas in
a minute.
Bhogi: Do Kriyayoga sadhana, burn your Karmas,
transform into a yogi. In order to know this Bhogi mantalu is done or firewood
is burnt.
Samkranti: Sun travels at the
rate of one Rasi (constellation) in a month. This jorney
or travelling is called Samkramanam or Samkranti. Likewise he does 12
travellings or 12 Samkramanams in a year. Amongst these two samkramanams viz.,
Makara Samkramanam and Karkataka samkramanams are important.
When sun
enters into Makara Rasi it is called Makara Samkramanam or Makara Samkranti.
Uttarayanam (Northern solstice) Starts
from this.
When sun
enters into Karkataka Rasi after six months it is called Karkata Samkramanam or Karkataka Samkranti.
Dakshinayanam (Southern solstice)Starts from this.
In Uttarayanam the currents
will flow from South to North. That means they flow from Mooladhara,
Swadhisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Visuddha, Agna, & Sahasrara). That will
aid the meditating Kriyayogi. That is why the sadhak or meditating yogi will
get much benefit in his spiritual journey even with little effort..
In Dakshinayanam the currents
will flow from North to South. That means they flow from Sahasrara, Agna,
Visuddha, Anahata, Manipura, Swadhisthana, & Mooladhara). That will not aid
the meditating Kriyayogi. That is why the sadhak or meditating yogi will have
to make intense sadhana to get benefit
in his spiritual journey without becoming disdained.
If you do Kriyayoga sadhana then Samkranti will come. You
will be in Uttarayana. To make it known or remind the sadhak, Makara Samkranti is celebrated.
Kanuma: The sadhak does intense sadhana and
finds the ignorance (Agnaan) in him. That is why symbolic Kanuma is
celebrated. Kanuma= to behold or see
Mukkanuma: the kootastham is the place in between the
eye brows. When we do sincere and intense sadhana for a longer time, then we
will find the third eye. Symbolically we celebrate Mukkanuma. Mukkanuma means
the third eye.
