Rudraksh

                                                      RUDRAKSHA

Rudraksha consisting of pulp covered with a thin outer cover is a fruit. This is mainly available Himalayan regions of India, Nepal, Indonesia, Java & Jakarta. Jabalopanishad, Padma purana, Siva purana & Devi purana etc mentioned about the usefulness of Rudraksha.
The Rudraksha fruit consists of seeds ranging from one to twenty one mukhas.  It is green in colour but after drying up it turns to black.  Each & every mukha Rudraksha has its own tree. The cost of Rudraksha  is directly proportional to its quality.  The more the superior more the cost.
White, red, yellow and black Rudrakshas are mentioned in the Sastras. Normally Brahmins wear white ones, kshatriyas red ones, Vaishyas yellow ones, and sudras wear black Rudrakshas. But it is very difficult distinguish which one is red and which one is white etc., why because normally after drying up all most all types of Rudrakshas change their colours to light brown or the colour of dust. Apart from this the traders also apply preventive dye colours, chemicals or mustard oil to protect them from white ants & worms etc.
Rudraksha is said to be having magnetic and electric power.
Testing Rudraksha:
1)    Water test: Put  the Rudraksha in water. If it floats reject it. If it drowns accept it.
2)    Copper coins test: sandwich the Rudraksha in between two copper coins.  If rotates to the right accept it as the genuine one. If it is steady or turn to the left reject it as a bad one.
3)     Milk test:  Put Rudraksha  in a milk tumbler. For next 48 hours observe the milk. The milk should remain unchanged. The Rudraksha is expected to stand on its base. Then accept that one as a genuine one.
